there is no pistolero anymore (I was tempted to say "pintolero"...)
New era, and maybe one of the best riders of all times, 28 years and 3 months... only

He rode more that 52 km/h, glups!

I don't want to sound petty, but his change of victory salute seems to be connected with his clen case.

1. Bertie 14.10
2. Coppel 14.18 (Surprise!!)
3. Menchov 14.22

Not that much... Coppel is an specialist... but this is a nice result for him... that will give him a lot of confidence...

Good to see that Contador has re-discovered his 2009 trialing form, with that nice Mr Riis.
Clearly, all that beef slowed him down, last year.

Last year wasn't that bad... He got very good results and won some prologues and ITTs...

Ok... Can I go mad like ACF when Cadel wins? :D
I'm so happy... but... thrilled... Alberto!!!! yes! boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooyaaaaaaaa!!!!
this is so great...!
OK... now keep the build up to peak in FW and beat some arses there... and then......... IL SUPERGIRO D'ITALIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

To be fair the whole Pistolero thing seemed a bit contrived and played for amusement. Yesterday he wasn't thinking of amusement, press photos or anything like that. He was thinking of redemption and he was absolutely ecstatic to win, hence you got the raw emotion celebration because it probably didn't cross his mind to do the pistol thing.

That Nordhaug boy of Sky does have some work to do on his TT position if I look at this picture

So, whats the difference here ?
On first view I would say the ellenbogens are lower and he looks little bit more stretched.
I hope he sits still again.

Contador has a lower position for instance.

Beautiful time trial position if you ask me, I think we already know who'll win the TT in the Giro :p

I was losing faith in his time trial, but this victory proves he still gots it. If the Tour had 2 long time trials, no way Andy would ever win the Tour.

Menchov

You have to give the Pope credit for this podium in his first race of the season.

More importantly, aren't they really ugly?

what's so wrong with it??

from my PoV... He is too high in his position... he should down it a bit, maybe a longer bike would help...

Really beautiful if you ask me... He has really mastered his TT position...
I dont know why some ppl was losing faith in his TT... just for a bad TT in Le Tour? after a really bad night and his own team telling him that He was losing La Maillot Jaune in the middle of the ITT? or that one in Dauphine where the tarmac was rubbish? just last year he was:

2. in Algarve
4. in P-N prologue
2. In Criterium Int.
1. in CyL
1. Dauphine Prologue
6. Dauphine ITT
6. Tour de France Prologue
35. Tour de France ITT

Wasnt that bad tho...

For Contador his Dauphine tt was really bad, as was his longer tour time trial and the one in Algarve.

That jerk could have won the Dauphine if he didn't lose so much time in that tt :p

Seeing as he'll win Catalunya this season he would've won all the important one-week stage races for climbers :p

I also don't see Romandie or Dauphine

or Asturias or Trentino for that matter

although i could be missing the logic behind how important one-week stage races for climbers are counted

Still no idea how that passes UCI regs.

so after some research... fuji indeed owns kestrel (and oval components, by the way) and that same frame was already used last year under the fuji badge by footon-servetto somewhere along the season. They do have a timetrial bike themselves, though I have no idea why they don't use them. Maybe not UCI legal? who knows...
