Good point. I suppose it would be possible, but aerodynamics may be compromised. I suppose on a flat course it doesn't matter so it's a small niche but maybe one a manufacturer could fill.

Going back in history, from memory Cervelo were some of those opposing the 6.8K lower limit before it became law, saying they were already producing lighter TT bikes ( I seem to remember the number 6.3K mentioned) way back then. What they looked like, or whether they were any good, I cannot remember.
