In hindsight it's baffling that only 2 riders went in the break, most of these GC teams can't be bothered to chase a break on a stage like this.

I hope Oomen will be victories. It's almost been 10 years since he won his only victories in the Tour de l'Ain. If he manages to win the stage and the GC, he would sort of mirror Zubeldia who won the TDA 10 years after winning a stage and the GC in Euskal Bizikleta.
