Samu Wins

Maybe Henao and the other climbers should start making the races hard to drop the time-trialers then.

Depends what they're given to work with. The Ibardin stage for example, would have been a complete waste of time attacking earlier than the last kilometre.

I think smaller teams would be a good way to increase the incentive for making the races hard, because at the moment there are quite a few very strong teams who are able to exert too much control to make attacking from distance worthwhile.

Sanchez and Rodriguez strong, but might have had a more time on this course than the others. They both looked much easier in the tricky corners.

Awesome for Samu to finally win here. Really happy for him. Now hopefully he'll win one of the ardennes classics as well!

Also really impressed by Nordhaug again, 6th overall is a great result for him!

J-Rod after the stage:"

"My time-trialing is improving, and with two long TT stages in TDF I think I could do some real damage and possibly win the tour."

You know perfectly well that riders nowadays routinely throw away very demanding stages just because they've forgotten how to attack before the final climb. The courses are not the problem here, generally speaking.

Congrats to the guys on the podium. They deserve it. The strongest man won, that's how it should be.

I am happy with Tonys performance. A 5th place in Pais Vasco which didn't see a traditional TT is nothing to be ashame of. so isn't his third place today.
