Powless is very talented as well, in the future I can see him being a rider in the Kwiatowski mold, good at time-trials, good enough on the climbs and in sprints. He may not be as talented a rider as McNulty, but with the right development (he's so young) he should be a presence in the Ardennes and GT's for years to come (that includes a GC tilt on a friendly route).

Is Kuss going to ride the Vuelta after this race?

Good question. He's not on the list to race Colorado like Powless is, so it's possible he could be going to la Vuelta. I agree with you that with the right development he could be a threat in some of the hilly one day races and maybe go for GC in some of the 1 week races. Not sure about GTs, but he is very talented and still very young.

Tom Bohli was disqualified from stage 2 for holding onto a vehicle. Tom took a bottle from another team car but has been penalized for holding onto the car.

Thanks for the information. I was curious why he was disqualified yesterday since it wasn't mentioned in the article.

According to PCS they're both riding in colorado, basically the whole Lotto NL team that's currently in Utah. It makes sense too, they're already there and Colorado is just a few days away.

It's the laps around Salt Lake City today, 10 laps to be exact.

They're on lap 5 now.

Smoke from wildfires in California can be seen in Utah?

Yes, indeed, sometimes you can satellite images of smoke trails all the way across the country. Athough there are fires in most western states right now, including really big fires in Oregon which may be what Utah is getting. This is getting to be the norm for August out here.

Unfortunately. Even worse is at least two of the fires are definitely from arson.

Yep. Salt Lake City is in a valley surrounded by mountains, and all that smoke gets trapped in there. It's worse now because of multiple fires in Utah as well.

Race now passing over one of my favorite places to ride. The mountain biking here is superb.
This last kick right before the KOM really hits you in the groin.
