How is Evans not a doper?

I mean, he was right up there with Contador and Leipheimer in the '07 Tour. Was that thanks to hard work and talent alone?

That sir, is a brilliant idea. Plus retrospective testing of ALL frozen samples. One positive, and you lose all your current titles.

This idea has been around a little while in some form or another. They (labs, I guess) are supposed to have about 8 years of samples. So, why not? Well, the UCI would not have it happen under any circumstances. It would strongly discourage doping.

Kivilev and Simon were two of the guys in that absurd 20min plus break that Lance whittled away at over two weeks. Though that doesn't mean either was clean, it just goes to show you that a 20 minute lead wasn't enough for some talented riders.

The answer to the OP is of course "no winner". Just like TH's vacated gold medal, once this is over the years 1999-2005 should simply be listed as "no winner", same with 2006 (and probably 2010 as well). This way some 50-100 years from now people will look back with a grim reminder just how rotten to the core the sport was during this time.

Kivilev had lost lots of time in a previous stage when he was caught up in a crash or something, and he only had some 13 minutes on the favourites.

Yes he lost 18 minutes on stage 4 and gained 33 minutes on stage 8.

He's also a 4/10 meaning his blood profile isn't squeaky clean.

Using my logic for this particular thread, mind you. Using my real logic independent from the premise of this thread, you'd be hard pressed to find the real winner of the 1999 Tour within the top 100.
