now that's a way to improve your roster by 100%.goddamn i expect some big news from astana until january.personally i'd like them to sign rebellin instead of denis.di luca would be great.kreuziger will cry in may 2011.
You think a 39-year-old who hasn't raced for 2 years would be a better signing than the guy who just finished 3rd at the Tour? I don't think it's cool how you discriminate against Menchov just because he hasn't actually tested positive.

According to rumours from astanafans team officials are in talks with Menchov and Di Luca.

Wow , they really want Menchov? Despite failed to recieve pro-team licence Menchov told that he dont want to leave Geox . Fans in Kazakhstan called him rat . I hope that Di Luca will make the right choice and moves to Lampre . Lampre has advantage , in Lampre there is his friend Alessandro Petacchi .

menchov will be good too.but i really want to see rebellin one more year at high level in some big races.menchov has a guaranteed spot at geox, rebellin has nothing.

http://jornalciclismo.com/jose-mendes-emigra-para-a-polonia

José João Mendes, one of the best riders in Portugal and an enigmatic breakaway artist, has signed for CCC Polsat-Polkowice. This is good news as he was the best rider who'd been announced for the new Liberty Seguros team before their superiors in the US pulled the plug, deciding that their Portuguese subsidiaries have got better things to do than attempt to get brand recognition by having yet another go on the cycling roulette wheel.

For Liberty Seguros it is more the Cycling Russian roulette revolver :p

But great to hear this. Do you know whether CCC will remain continental, or were they pro-continental? I just hope they aren't in too many races together with Euskaltel:p

CCC were ProContinental last year, but they were one of only 2 ProContinental teams (Scott-Marcondes César being the other) that weren't signed up to the biopassport and were therefore not eligible for wildcard status; this meant they couldn't enter ProTour or HIS events, but could do other .HC races, such as Bayern, Denmark or Turkey.

This year, 'wildcard status' has been abolished, and if you're on the ProContinental level then you are compulsorily on the biopassport.

CCC are remaining ProConti.

They've signed Marek Rutkiewicz from Mróz-ActiveJet, so he'll probably be close to the leader. The negative side to them being biopassport is that it means they'll be allowed to enter the Tour de Pologne (though they did provide the national team most of their riders last year), which means that, as their home race, that will receive more of their attention than the Volta - they had 16 riders on their roster last year, and 17 would be required to have a full complement for both Poland and Portugal, and I'd like to see José given a chance to ride for himself at the Volta, especially now after seeing what Hernâni Broco managed and considering Mendes was LA-Paredes Rota dos Móveis' de facto leader for most of the early season last year.

100% sure DAOTEC?
if so,yep i think it's the smartest move from the both parts.

No, if my rusty French is good enough is that it is a possibility depending on his situation with the UCI

yes i read that but it seems that DAOTEC has some inside info which says that uci won't appeal.so he's not just free to ride, but he wasn't blacklisted or something by the uci.

Yeah it would definitely be a good move for Movistar. They have a solid team but no real GT leader. I mean, Tondo and Plaza are good for top 10, maybe top5 in GTs however, Pellizotti could challenge for the podium.

Patxi Vila

I was browsing through the UCI website to check the final list of ProConti teams and noticed that Patxi Vila is in the De Rosa Ceramica Flaminia roster. So is he back to racing after his suspension? I might have missed this info.
I used to like this rider back when he was with Lampre.
