i have talking about this happening since contador said he needed a stronger team. paulinho is a very good domestique and a good friend of contador, (was contador's roomate during the armstrong affair(like laflorecita pointed out) and along zubeldia 1 of the 2 only trust worthy domestiques contador had that tour)

i hope that happens and paulinho takes machado and oliveira with him there :p

Machado could be that GC rider of GT that contador don't ride. Bjarne always made a good work with young riders.

trololololololo Machade can't climb enough to get in a GT top 10, and his recuperation isn't good enough too

actually is recuperation his very good. he was out of the top 30 of the giro at the start of the second weekend and over the last week he slowly climbed to 20th and was 8th on the last itt ahead of people like nibali and so.

he needs to improve his position on the peloton and learn how to peak for a race. from what i read on his blog he has a very hard time timing his peaks and riis would be perfect to teach him. he would never be a GC contender but could prolly get a top 10 imo

Your second GC riders don't means top contender. But a decent show.

Jonny Bellis is being released by Saxo Bank and will need a new team for 2012. I should point out that he does have one card up his sleeve is that he and Cav are very good friends (Cav visited Bellis quite frequently when he was in hospital in Italy and then when Bellis was in hospital in London following his horrific scooter crash).

I quite like Albasini. I think he might go to GE and i hope so.

Where is Popo going, before his crash at the TDF he looked quite strong and was driving the pace on stage 4.

Bellis could go to Rapha-Condor maybe and transfer at the end of the year to Sky if he rides well at Rapha???

I'd like to see Bellis at Sky but I'm not sure if they'll have a spare spot for him.

Get the feeling Sky are struggling to keep numbers down next year as it is. Froome did not have a contract coming into vuelta and there is still some uncertainty over who will be there next year. Cannot believe there is room for Bellis this year

Saw after his stage win that he said he had a new team sorted (in fact he said that all the HTC riders now had new teams)

as with everyone just waiting for the announcement

So far:

Michael Albasini (SUI)
Lars Bak (DEN)
Matt Brammeier (IRE)
Mark Cavendish (GBR)
John Degenkolb (GER) - Skil
Bernhard Eisel (AUT)
Caleb Fairly (USA)
Jan Ghyselinck (BEL) - Cofidis
Matthew Goss (AUS)
Bert Grabsch (GER)
Patrick Gretsch (GER) - Skil
Leigh Howard (AUS)
Craig Lewis (USA)
Tony Martin (GER) - Quick Step
Danny Pate (USA)
Marco Pinotti (ITA) - BMC
František Raboň (CZE) - Quick Step
Alex Rasmussen (DEN) - Garmin
Mark Renshaw (AUS) - Rabobank
Hayden Roulston (NZL)
Kanstantsin Siutsou (BLR)
Gatis Smukulis (LAT)
Tejay van Garderen (USA) - BMC
Martin Velits (SVK) - Quick Step
Peter Velits (SVK) - Quick Step

It wouldn't surprise me if Smukulis joins Saramotins at Cofidis. I think Pate will go to an American Pro Conti team along with Lewis and Fairly. Roulston would be natural fit for GreenEDGE, but I don't think he will. Siutsou is more or less joining Sky, Eisel and Grabsch will go where ever Cav goes. Howard to GE, and Goss will probably join him. I'm not sure about Brammier and Bak though, but I'm sure somebody on here will know something.

Just wish Cav will hurry up and announce where he is going.

Bak is a huge workhorse, surely will be picked up by somebody, would be a perfect rider for GE with their aims.

I'd say some of the guys don't actually know where they are going. Albasini may have just meant that everyone had a contract offer, thus assuring that, as he said, they would all have teams for next year. Perhaps some of the guys want to stick together and they haven't arranged which team they will go to yet.

I think Brammeier was off to QuickStep too

Does anyone have any updated news on where Porte is riding next year? Have heard Sky and BMC mentioned, as well as staying at Saxobank.
