Yesterday on RAI they said that Tiralongo (Astana) might join Contador next year (perhaps already signed).

They are not already in the same team?:D

procycling.no claims to have their own sources that say Gilbert and Hushovd will ride together at BMC next year. http://www.procycling.no/article3189904.ece

From the article:
"Sources procycling.no has spoken to informs that the two riders will be riding together at BMC next year."

No one is of course confirming anything publicly and everyone refers to the August 1st transfer opening.

Hushovd ang Gilbert are training partners so a move like this would not be surprising and since Gilbert generally skips Roubaix to prepare for the Ardennes it won't clash with Hushovds ambitions at Roubaix. I guess the main issue is perhaps what happens with Ballan and if there would be some rivalry there if he stays.

Still, it could all be nothing. I'm not really sure how reliable procycling.no has been when it comes to their own sources. They mostly report news from other sources.

Interesting because right after Sunday's stage, Gilbert came to the outdoor studio to talk to RTBF. He didn't seem to be very moved by what had happened with Willems and Van Den Broeck only a couple of hours before which surprised me. He said that when he had talked to the motorbike, it was not to explain the bunch halt to the race, but rather because he just wanted to find out what had happened to those who had crashed. His own team obviously hadn't told him on the radio since they were probably busy with Willems and VDB2.

Then during the interview he was interrupted by Hushovd who rolled up nearby and started distracting him. Gilbert said in an offhand way that he would be sharing a rest day ride with Thor (presumably rather than with his own team). The commentator then asked Gilbert if he wanted to share anything about his future. Gilbert then turned a bit serious and said no. :)

If the move with Hushovd and Gilbert turns out to be true then BMC has a real knack for signing world champions. They would then have or had the world champion of 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Ah ya. Confused it with the year of his RVV win.

also in your defence the fact that you win the race 1 year but mostly only ride as champion the following doesn't help :p

He can reunite with Cretskens and Hovelynck at Donckers Koffie-Jelly Belly and win Handzame Classic next year.
