Judging by this article, I assume Daniel Teklehaimanot will go on trial with Quick Step.

There is a whole group of riders that have been invited to the camp and they could only take 3 stagiaires so that conclusions is a little premature.

Unless they want to replace Ballan I think BMC should be trying to get sprinters and climbers not more classics type riders. They deperately need someone who they can send to a GT other than Evans who can do something, whether it is a quality sprinter or a rider who can challenge for the top 10. At the moment any GT team they send without Evans is very, very weak.

I do agree but there is nothing wrong with getting gilbert as he will get BMC a lot of wins which is what they need. anyway 2/3 of the GTs will be ridden by evans.

Yes millar has stake in slipstream sports

A really miniscule one. Probably not enough to anchor him in place, and it's not like Slipstream is turning a big profit.

They may have to replace Ballan soon considering he's under investigation and the reports we've heard to date suggest he could be deep in the sticky stuff.

Hmmm, I do agree they need a sprinter but who would you get?

I would like them to one or two riders into the team who are guys who can get results. Don't get 5 or 6 guys who are good but aren't really cutting it.

I am relaxed. He was just talking to max Sciandri who he would of worked with.

That's been BMC's problem, picking up loads of guys who are good but aren't ultimately going to get many wins. They can pick up tons of good placements but apart from Evans I don't think they really have any proven winners.

As regards sprinters, I know that Farnese will be fools not to have him locked in long term but throwing money at Guardini could be an approach worth consdering.

And sorry, you failed the cycling fan idiom test. You aren't "relaxed". You should be "tranquillo".

Can you name them please (I'm genuinely curious), as I'm not to familiar with the African racing scene.

They can't all be the most talented climber in the world and go on to lose more then 12 minutes to a less talented cyclist ;)

There's Natnael Berhane (20 years old). Other Eritreans younger than Teklehaimanot haven't raced so many international races yet, so it's hard to tell how good they really are.
But most top Eritreans (Freqalsi Abrha Debesay, Meran Russan, Haile Dawit, even Tesfai Teklit) are actually older than Daniel Teklehaimanot - I'll have to contradict Ryo Hazuki on that (and it'll get me a bashing, no doubt).

Teklehaimanot is by far the best Eritrean rider - even the best young African rider. And it's about time he gets a contract with a big team.

I don't understand the Millar rumour - doesn't he hold a stake in Slipstream?

That was my thought, Millar to greenedge seems a very strange one indeed. Why would garmin release him, hes a part owner, potentially a coach and ds when he finishes racing, and hes still got the ability to win stages and hold leaders jerseys in grand tours.

Very odd.

If they get Renshaw as well then they definitely have way too many sprinters. Won't be able to keep them all. I'm sure that neither Swift nor Hagen wants a future as Cavendish's second-to-last leadoutman...

I would assume that would mean that Cav would have a one man leadout team with Renshaw doing the Geraint job. Geraint and Edvald can then concentrate on developing themselves.

Swift and Appo for some races, Cav for others.

Henderson and Sutton to go to greenedge

Didn't Guardini renew his contract just before Giro or something like that?

Millar won't go to GreenEdge, he'll be riding for JV until he retires and he'll almost certainly become a DS for him straight after.

I rather doubt that - Thomas would be man 3, flecha 4 and you've got a decent train.

Boassen to develop in the hills & cobbles, or leave, which is better than being a sprinter frankly.

No one will pay Cav the money he'll be getting in order to let him freelance when it comes to the Tour.
