That was going around for ages. Not surprising.

The menchov to Katusha transfer was going around for ages. Just because he is russian the media will put two and two together saying he's off to Katusha as it's a russian team

"Wind" (the noun) pronounced [waɪ̯nd] is poetical so I thought it was fine even if it wasn't supposed to be high literature.

re froome from the frontpage

His future in the WorldTour is secure because a major Dutch team, a US squad and a leading European team have all shown interest. A French team is also keen to sign him.”

and SKY.

US squad-?

Dutch - VDS

Euro - SKY I guess

French - AGR2 ? - which is why I posted be a good fit and he has some points to bring now.

Garmin I guess.

also from the context the so called European team is separate from Sky. Leopard or Saxo bank or QS or Lotto probably.

Could also be an agent talking up interest.

Still think he will stay though.

As much as I want him to stay at Sky (and ultimately think he will), I could not be more chuffed for him that his value is skyrocketing.

Unless he's a very confident boy, he should be looking to sign a decent contract today rather than after he cracks.

I think everyone including me agrees that my attempt at poetry was not great, I will do better next time, although I might just transfer (see the post is on topic) it out of my repertoire.

Sky should do everything they can to keep Froome if they are serious about winning Grand Tours with British riders.

Any news on Rogers & Haymen? Do they have contracts with sky?
Thanks.

I´m pretty sure Rogers signed 2 years and they are both riding ToB so I expect they will ride next year with SKY

He will be offered a big contract by Sky to ensure that he stays and allows Wiggins to get infront of him no doubt.

Robbie Hunter keeps hinting on Twitter that he's signed with Greenedge. For instance last night : Sky should have signed him when they had the chance but the bird has already flown & Froome is looking at greener pastures. It might just be hot air on Robbie's part.

Frantisek Rabon will announce his new team after 1st Septemer, because he has a clause in his contract, that he can't announce his new team before this date. All riders from HTC has probably this contract clause.

I think Robbie is full of **** frankly.

Froome may well go to greenedge, but in the run up to the Vuelta he wanted a renewed contract with Sky, hes happy there, was a matter of putting in a performance. There are those who will say Froome should have got a contract earlier but honestly, with illness and injury hes not really shown form that made him worth a lucrative contract. He started picking up some form prior to the Tour but didnt make the squad, but has now had a good week in Spain.

Sky may be scratching their heads and ask why he was getting shelled off the back on little climbs in the spring (but he did struggle with illness)

Another thing to bear in mind, theres all this excitement because hes in red, but one good week does not a grand tour rider make. It could well be that his instructions were to go all out for one week supporting Brad, and then Lofkvist, Zandio, Cioni would do the work in weeks two and three.

Personally I hope Froome stays at Sky, but one good week in Spain does not inflate his value too much for me.

That's a little unfair. It was really generous of Sky to pay Pauwels to complete his degree without having to go cycling :D

No, that's just people misinterpreting Robbies tweets. He hasn't hinted at anything. He has simply stated that he thinks Sky should have resigned Froome a long time ago and he also stated that Froome should look for greener pastures but nothing about that he already has.

I think he actually meant the team 'OPQP' :D

nah, he was right.

He spent most of last year studying, and this year I dont think hes even completed a race due to illness, injury, or whatever reason.

Not sure he is 100% committed to be honest. Maybe he will be happier being on a Belgian team. Tons of potential, but just dunno.

Just seen Dave Brailsford's interview on Sky Sports News. He didn't say a great deal but he did strongly hint that there would be a high turnover of riders for next year so the rumour about 11 riders leaving might well be true.

Confirmed departures - Arvesen, Gerrans, Pauwels

As good as confirmed - Henderson

I'd guess that the others will be - Possoni, Carlstrom, Downing, Hunt, Augustyn, Cioni.

And then one from Hayman, Sutton, Knees and Barry (all of whom I'd imagine Sky would ideally like to keep).

Cycling Quotient have Cavendish, Siutsou, Puccio, Rowe and Henao (official) as confirmed signings and Porte and Eisel as possibles. I've seen Fenn and Rasch linked as well by other sources. That would be nine. Any other rumoured signings for Sky?
