Haha

Dombro will be Wiggo's biatch at the Giro.

Unless Dombrowski does a Froome but doesn't listen when they say to go back for Wiggo ;). I would love to see that.

Oh the Wiggo part is deffinately transfer-related as to what Dom's role will be on Sky (though some of us went slightly off-topic after that for which I am sorry)

To sum up: I am talking about his role on his new team. I am arguing that IF the rumours about Wiggins change of schedule are true then Dom will be nothing more than a domestique in any GT, and a domestique who focus on keeping a very steady watt-lvl, essentially tuning him into a diesel. In that case I would rather see him do other races and not any GTs.

Oh and I do hope that a mod will bring some soap to clean your mouth ;)

Agree with Cimber here, I do want to see Dombrowski turned into a GT mountain domestique. I want to see him become the next great attacking GC rider, not a Diesel.

If Rujano could get back into the shape he was in at the 2011 Giro than he would be a great Domestique for Contador.

You'd think that if he really was a once-every-30-years talent, surely someone somewhere would want to sign him...

Worlds best climer doing the work for AC? :p:p

He called himself the world's third best climber, after Contador and Rodríguez. He said that before his signing with Farnese Vini early in 2010, so we could at least give him some credit for predicting Rodríguez' breakout after leaving Valverde's shadow (although a bunch of races like Montelupone and Anglirú 2008 should have shown us that once it gets above 20% Rodríguez is a king amongst men).

Chris Horner then jumped in and interjected, calling himself the 2nd best climber in the world, which would force Rodríguez down to 3rd and Rujano to 4th.

It's about time :), and bravo to Sky for not making him pay the buy-out.

Brailsford has 2 hats, of course. Wearing his 2nd as British Cycling Supremo, it makes sense that Cav can go to a team which will support him more.

That was not me, but a site that doesn't know the difference between Dani Moreno and Navarro. ;)

Not that I care in the slightest in what team Dani Moreno ends up in.

why not? the combo JRod/Moreno might very well be deadly in the ardennes the next couple of years, so a Gilbert fan should praise the lord if they split up

Moreno was mediocrity personified for Lotto, so he did nothing for the glory of Belgium.

Waw, a bit of pressure in the media from himself and external parties and he's off for free. Why use contracts any more..?

Cav felt he would have more support and better opportunities at OPQS. Sky's plans do not include supporting a world-class sprinter to the level he expects. If Cav stays it means a couple of wasted spots at each race, it means having someone there who doesn't want to be there, undermining morale.

Sky haven't signed five stage race domestiques over the past month because they were expecting and hoping for Cav to stay.

Rujano to saxo lol. I like as i expected more of saxo (well i hoped for cancellara), but i dont think Rujano would give much draft to Contador and i dont think he would ride too well if not for hisself.

Perhaps Sky and especially Cav should have thought about that before making a commitment. Everyone was talking about the chances of the two parts clashing because of their different agendas before his move from HTC.

This new trend with declaring unsatisfiedness while having 2-3 years left of a contract and forcing it to mean **** all by creating a big fuss about it in the press is devaluing the whole meaning of signing one in the first place. Fabian was another example. If they want free of it they should come up with a compensation to the team. Who and how it's paid is pretty irrelevant to me.

And it's not even like Cav has been bad and won next to zero. He has been pretty good considering the different circumstances he has had in comparison to his HTC days. Won plenty of races.

Third best is what he said behind Contador and Purito. Has Rujano ever worked for anyone in a grand tour? If he has motivation issues now how can he get motivated riding for someone else? Only way I can imagine it is if he and Contador have been in contact since the 2011 Giro and have bonded in some way. Rujano obviously respects Contador but he is way too inconsistent and wishy-washy to invest in but Contador see's something in him. I think even Riis would have trouble getting him in line and reaching his true potential. Contador is on the record saying that he prefers that his Tour teams be focused on ushering him to the top step of the podium, with little if any leeway for the support to pursue their own interests. Rujano really doesn't fit that mold.

Do these Rujano rumours have any meat to them? Or is it just wishful thinking from some posters on the board?

Agreed, Rujano seems like the rider to me who doesn't know how to be told what to do, should be interesting how Bjarne handles him anything like Savio did.
