I don't think Valverde really cares about LA. It was him that commented about this "new book everyone's reading" looking boring, so he read some poetry instead, and his rather concerning comments came when asked about the issue. It wasn't like he called a press conference specifically to announce that LA is awesome.

Valverde is obviously central to Movistar's plans, and inasmuch as Valverde has any say in Movistar's transfer policy, Valverde will be recruiting with Valverde in mind.

Today Christina-Watches will reveal a new signing.

Claus Hembo's words:

"We have made a scoop for the upcoming season and signed a contract with a rider who has won one of cycling biggest classics. It's not just a race like Harelbeke or similar. It is one of the greats, like Flanders, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Paris-Roubaix or the like."

Apparently, Di Luca has been rumoured there  (but he has won more than 1 classic...)

Sounds like it's a monument winner:

Yeah it does. I think it could be a AGR-winner, though, which opens the door for Ivanov. Actually, if they are just hyping it up it could be Sinkewitz who has won Rund um den Henninger Turm.

Magnus Bäckstedt is leaving UK Youth and has been recently on his twitter saying a deal from one team is taking longer to complete than he hoped for, something in that style.

I'd say's he's the best bet.

It can't be Ivanov as he retired.

According to danish newspapers the new rider for CWO is confirmed as Constantino Zaballa, so the big monument was San Sebastian :)

Doesn't surprise me. Christina-Watches' bull**** is getting boring. Up there with Flanders, Liége and Roubaix? Most danes have never even heard of Clasica San Sebastian.

Maybe it was their sort of... weird way of getting more people to know about San Sebastian. :p

San sebastian is not a monument, but not so much below AGR. And way above a minor race lijke Harelbeke. Harelbeke is shorter (only 200km so even guys like and only last year it was promoted to WT-level, while CSS is World Cup material since at least beginning of the 90's.

Hernâni Brôco's back to LA-Antarte it seems. Disappointed he only had the one year at Pro-Conti as I'm a fan of his, but maybe this can be his year for A Volta... OK, I'm a bit idealistic.
