3 scenarios

1. Successor to Matt White as DS at GE

2. He really does simply want to spend more time with his family

3. Was the bleeped out name on 7.30 report and has decided to get out and turn himself in.

I would describe myself as being confident that the first scenario will turn out to be the correct one.

nick gates was a joke as a cylist, I assume he's also a joke in everything else, although as bad as he was he must've at least been clean all the time

So if you're bad at one thing you're automatically bad in everything else. And if you're bad at something that automatically means you always play fair. That's a whole lot of worthless assumptions for one sentence.

I mean I don't spend a hell of a lot of time on these forums but it becomes evident to any sensible human being that although Hazuki has a good idea about some aspects of cycling that others dont, his tendancy to convey his bold opinions as if it's gospel rasons for why I often discard comments like the one above. I do however, believe the energy White brings to the role will be hard to replace.

They still have Moser, Viviani, Basso, Caruso etc., not that bad, eh? ;)

When you claim that Agnoli was WT standard (whatever that may be) then Michel Koch, Guillaume Boivin or Lucas Haedo are at least on the same level.

Wasn´t Agnoli rather Nibali´s domestique? Think he seldom got the chance to ride for own results, but I might be wrong.

Where will the older Haedo (Juan Jose) ride? Saxo?

Michel Koch might be Nerz´ replacement.

They have lost significant names, which have not been replaced by riders of equal strength. Ergo, Cannondale must not have upped their budget too much (although Sagan's wage would explain a lot). Nowhere did I say the team is bad.

Agnoli is a WT standard domestique, yes. Are we going to see LS Haedo pull for 50km on mountain stages?

NIBALI Vincenzo > all
AGNOLI Valerio > WURF Cameron
CAPECCHI Eros > DE MARCHI Alessandro
DUGGAN Timothy = VANDBORG Brian Bach
NERZ Dominik > KOCH Michel
OSS Daniel > HAEDO Lucas Sebastian
SZMYD Sylwester > KRIZEK Matthias
VANOTTI Alessandro > MASUDA Nariyuki

Also in:

BOILY David
BOIVIN Guillaume

Boivin is probably the best new signing, as a 3rd sprinter. Koch has potential but cannot expect anything from a neopro.

Wurf can do a good job and so can De Marchi- even though they now have no real GT GC leader. Duggan is in my view better than Vandborg.

I liked Agnoli, he was like Caruso this year in the Giro- best young rider (actually 2nd but still) having to work for others. and he did good at M-SR this year.

Boily and Boivin can hopefully also be good.

Just been checking transfers for 2013 little bit, and really surprised why Movistar didn´t renew Sergio Pardilla, who´ll join MTN... He got WT rider 2011, aged 27, and look at his results in his 2 years at Movistar... Not too bad!

Pardilla had to go, and they sign Eloy Teruel... Useful maybe in Spetember, in the TTT worlds, but strange transfer, nonetheless. Maybe to show the "Movistar" letters on at least one skinsuit in the Track World Cups.

What else is to say? Quite a lot, too much for one quick post. Too bad Rafaa Chtioiu didn´t have his breakthrough with Europcar...
Vogondy leaves Cofidis, maybe even end of career?
Valentin Iglinsky to Ag2R is strange, I think Vino made this happen, he´s still a good friend of his former chief Lavenu.
Devolder to RadioShack, OK, I think this was being put up by Bruyneel, who might now be out of the team.
Cameron Wurf leaves Liquigas/Cannondale, joins, leaves, and so on... :D
Pauriol to Saur... So if he joins Bretagne one day, he´ll have been at really every French WT and PCT team.
Menchov gets Kozonchuk back, maybe that helps to do better in the Tour, probably not.
Rujano to Vacansoleil - he will feel left alone there, luckily he does anything on his own mind, anyways.
Jimmy Casper leaves Ag2R, hope this doesn´t mean end of career.
Androni will have a very nice line-up, Giro wildcard guaranteed anyways.
Morajko lucky to be able to return to CCC, regarding his 2012 season.
Di Gregorio out of Cofidis, and still no trial on him in France...
Pozzato three years to Lampre is great, I just think top riders should be on top teams.
Leipheimer clearly has a problem, don´t see a real chance for him to stay WorldTour.
Gerdemann still without a contract, I think maybe IAM or NetApp will be an option.

They have Basso for the Giro, he won't be able to win it and a podium is unlikely but he might still be able to get a top 10. And they have Sagan for the tour, who can compete for the points jersey. But it is true they don't have any guys that can contend for GC anymore. I see them becoming a sprinter/classics team now.

It's a bit sad really, Liquigas used to be the team that was really great at rallying around their GT leader. Relatively average riders outdoing themselves.

Yea. Next year is a big contrast to '10, where they had Basso (still being good), Nibali, Kreuziger and Pellizotti.
