Duartista said:According to this guy, Rujano has signed for Euskaltel. No idea how reliable that is.

the asian said:Most Probably will be the leader in the Giro and a super Domestique in the Vuelta to Anton.
There were rumours that Vacans targeted him too and that he had several offers form pro teams, so Euskatel must have made a good offer to tempt him.

He's usually good in odd years - '05, '09, '11. In 2007 he had a genuine excuse in that he broke something important (pelvis I think) in the Amstel Gold Race. The Hitch said:Lol i like that actually. In so far as i do want to.see a bit more.of rujano as he should have a good 3to 4 years left in him.
He will finish 50th in the giro including top 10 on the mtt, then pull out on stage 10 of the tour.

Rujano's career is very reminiscent of Bahamontes pre-30. Flashes of climbing brilliance, difficult to manage, convinced of his own ability, and a penchant for the 'attacking abandon'. Of course, after Bahamontes turned 30 he calmed down a bit, found some sympathetic DS's and enjoyed the best years of his career. Many put his change in mentality down to the influence of Fausto Coppi. Perhaps the best is yet to come from the 'Little Giant of Santa Cruz de la Mora' aka babyface aka elcondorruyano. The only possible flaw in the analogy is that Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano plays the role of Coppi.
The Hitch said:Quintana is the new Rujano. Tiny 23 years and 3 months Gran Colombian coming from poverty podiuming the Giro
Arnout said:Rujano with Euskaltel would be brilliantBetter than all those stupid other names that are linked with the team.
Now let's hope Orbea has an XXXS bike lying around.
The Hitch said:Rujano did say he wanted to compete in Vuelta, i think it was in 2011. And it would suit him a hell of a lot more as he doesnt like the cold damp conditions of Giro mountain stages.

Pippo_San said:IIRC he won the stage on the Grossglockner in 2011, which didn't exactly show GOOD conditions...surely no one likes cold and/or rainy conditions (of course some are better, some worse), but I don't think that's Rujano problem at all.
I totally LOVE the romance in your comparison...it's just a tad bit farfetched![]()

Pentacycle said:Quintana will be at the age Hitch mentioned by next May. Would be a great result for him, even though he's already hyped up to the level where a GT podium is pretty normal...

Savio loses his third Venezuelan, if confirmed.
Ryo Hazuki said:ugh. posts like this cna make me so ma.d you know nothing about rujano. the grossglockner stage is hwre get got sick last year  he suffers tremendously in cold. obviously when he's 48 kg
you don't become sick in 15 minutes time obviously. it takes a few days or so to get bronchitis
Pippo_San said:I didn't knew you were a medic of sorts, I'm sorry to ever doubted lol
This is just the usual Rujano, every year there's an excuse, that's what he is, and he won't change.
Ryo Hazuki said:quintana is 22 and although more complete physically and mentally than rujano. he doesn't have the shere talent of rujano. a rider with rujano's talent is sene every 30 years or so.
