They had Evans, Phinney, Hincapie, Ballan and a bunch of inexpensive riders basically. No Gilbert, Hushovd, TJVG or GVA. So what if Evans took up half of the budget? It was a small team back then.

15 million is Rabo's overall team budget, which includes the women's, offroad, and development teams.

I know Omega Pharma Quick-Step wants him. But they need to find extra budget.

Wow that would be an awesome buy for BMC, but I can't believe FDJ will let go of him. He is young and still has a lot of potential like TJVG. Both of them are not out right GC contenders so they can ride as co leaders.
After next year when evans gives the tour one last shot, the sole leadership will go on their shoulders.

What makes you think FDJ can compete with BMC contract wise? FDJ will offer him a nice contract and BMC will double it. Then it's on Thibaut's shoulders.

It would be very surprising to see him sign with BMC. Van Garderen and Pinot are two future GC stars, why be on the same team? Unless of course Pinot just cares about who can give him the most money. But from the prospective of both himself and Van Garderen you'd think they would want a team built around them, and not competing within the same team.

Could be tue. The budgets for the French teams are much smaller. Now he has won a stage in the Tour he can ask for more but I think a team like BMC could accommodate such a rider. Maybe Pinot himself has doubts about how far he can go and will just chase the money ? Will BMC retain Hushovd ? Hincapie gone and others will probably go which will change their budget.

He's out of contract so I could see that happening. Although with Cavendish probably leaving that would move him up the ladder in the Sky sprinter ranks. He could be their sprinter at the Giro again for instance like he was in 2011.

Other Sky riders out of contract: Dowsett, Hunt, Rogers, Lovkvist, Nordhaug, Zandio and Barry.

Dowsett will very likely re-sign and I'm pretty sure Hunt is retiring. Has Rogers been linked with GreenEdge or eslewhere? Nordhaug and Barry have been linked with moves. I could see Lovkvist moving on. Zandio, who knows.

Flecha is under contract with Sky in 2013 but has been linked with Vacansoleil. And obviously Cav (+ Eisel presumably) could join OPQS despite apparently having three year contracts with Sky.
