It'll be also interesting to see who won't continue at OPQS. Grabsch?

Lance Armstrong said:
Velits twins probably.

Petacchi what a waste of good money. Renshaw and Kwiatowski I can understand but not an over the hill sprinter unless they need a specialist bottle carrier. Seriously ?

My guess.

The Aldag/Holm side wants more power to Cav/sprinting

The owner (Bakala) wants to compete with Sky, Saxo etc.

Lefevere spends most his time planning and dreaming about RvV and P-R.

--------

I see Grasbch leaving as well. Not sure about the brothers.

It will be interesting to follow the dynamics on OPQS moving forward. Surely Kwia and Uran have serious ambitions which might involve TdF.

Now the team added Stale-Jet to help Cav win flat stages.

It will likely be fun to watch.

This year was to win the red jersey at the Giro which is why he stayed till the end and is now paying for it in terms of top speed. Next year he will quit the Giro early and focus on TDF. Kwiatkowski may do Giro or Vuelta.

Nope, 14 months long deal. Since end of 2014 basically.

Kwia for Giro would clash with a full spring classic schedule imo.

Kwia's ambition level? Nobody knows for sure yet.

Also Uran would want some resources at the Tour. One bigger guy to guide him in the flat finales and another to help him in the mountains. Otherwise the project will likely fail.

So I don't think the puzzle is straight forward. We shall see.

A number of riders ride the ardennes and the giro and perform at both.

I don't understand another bigger guy, OPQS is full of them. So far as being a GC team OPQS have far too far to go, they don't have anyone who would count as a mountain domestique, only P Velits, if, and that's a big if he finds his form. Any GC contender would clearly be on their own. I don't think Uran will go to OPQS.

Kwia rode both Cobbles and Ardennes stuff this year. Difficult to combine that with a Giro imo. Something must give I think.

On Uran
Not so much another big guy, but rather an existing being allocated to Uran. Having the GC guy sitting in a train (or without guidance) in flat finales is risky business. Very difficult to drive two ambitious agendas (sprint train + GC) in the tour imo.

I thought Uran going to OPQS was confirmed?

Uran is as far as confirmed as possible without being official.

They have verbal agreement already, just need to sign on 1st August.

Anyone talking something else, is talking crap.

Wonder what Boonen thinks about this, more people for Cav but not really classcis guys (Renshaw & Petacchi) and someone for GC...

If Devenyns & Van Keirsbulck go away that would be a heavy blow for their classics team

Deveyns haven't ridden any classics this year due to injury, can cope easily without him. Van Keirsbulck is decent but could easily be replaced at this moment.

And anyway, they are rumoured to be in for Stuyven. Bigger talent than Van Keirsbulck. So it balances.

Considering they have Terpstra, Trentin, Steegmans, Chavanel,Kwiatkowski Vanderbergh and obviously Boonen and few other good doms such as Vermote or Maes. Depth on cobbles isnt going be a problem :p

A bit different kind of riders. Besides, Van Keirsbulck went pro 2 years younger than Stuyven.

Well, agreed.

However I still see Stuyven as much bigger talent, who will achieve more success than Keirsbulck respectively.

Lefevere was quite clear. They wanted a guy for the GC, but one who could handle his own and even be prepared to support Cavendish if needed. That's why Lefevere wasn't after a Tier-I GC guy, but had to settle for someone like Uran.
