In their first year they had 31 riders of which 17 were Australian (55%). This year they had 30 riders total, with 16 being Australian (53%).

Not really. Others teams picked up some of the riders OGE was looking to sign. Wonder if Evans will go to them for his last season or just retire after 2014 when his BMC contract expires. A bit like McEwen did just to mentor the younger riders. O'Grady did the same thing.

I'm not sure they'll ride two grand tours but it's not impossible after their good impression at the Vuelta this year. The Tour is their big target for 2014.

Very good signing's by Netapp, especially Bennett. Smart decision by him to go to a pro conti team instead of straight to world tour I'd say. He'll be able to have a easier time adjusting to the higher level of racing then he would have had he gone straight to a WT team.

Stetina too, although he's lower profile. With Millar and Danielson likely gone after next season, it will only be Martin, Hesjedal and Farrar left of the core slipstream project riders. (And even Farrar I'm not certain about. Did he sign for two years?). Maybe Vansummeren counts too.

They also seem to be in the middle of a transition from being a team of old men, to one of the younger ones around.

Brutal world just below the tier 1 sprinters (Kittel, Greipel and Cav). We may have 10-15 good sprinters in the 2nd tier group. Can't recall a time where we had that many. Good luck to Farrar, seems like a good guy.

Alex Howes definetely counts. Van Summeren doesn't. He came to Garmin when they were already a well-established Pro-Tour team.

They have been bringing plenty of young talents for a while. Howes, Rathe, Talansky, Navardauskas, Vanmarcke, Stetina, Peterson, Michel and Raymond Kreder, Haas, Cameron and Travis Meyer, Bobridge, Morton, Dennis etc. They have never been a team of old men, really. They had plenty of experienced riders, but always combined with many neo-pros and young, promising talents.

The most important transition which is ongoing now is to become a GC/climbing team, rather than a sprinting/cobbles/TTT as it was a year or two ago.
