I luv alberto yada yada

Do you see what I did there? :p

Ryo loves colombians, VAE loves Astana, you love Alberto and some of us heathens loves/like Sky. I genuinely appreciate your insight and passion about your favoured riders but each of us demonstrate similar levels of 'fan boy/girlism' so please leave the childish comments for a Sky bashing board like the 'Why team sky will dominate' board.

I think this fanboy/girlism is terrible for the quality of the forum, no matter what team or rider it is directed to. So, hmm, cut it out maybe?

The point I was trying to make is that not everything in cycling revolves around Sky and we can discuss in which way other riders can win. No one asked who will win the Giro and the Tour yet this dude felt the need to state that Sky will win the Giro and the Tour while others were discussing Nibali's chances for the tour

Hopefully Nibbles can get a peak in the ardennes next year.

Nibali, Scarponi, Iglinsky, Gaspa, Grivko and Lutsenko to go crazy :p:D

I think that will be his main goal for the first half of the season. He can build up to his first peak with the usual TA, MSR, and Ardennes; then do his second peak at the Tour.

Maybe it's a youth issue but, other than Cav, there are a fair few British sprinters that don't seem quite up to WT standard (I.e. Blythe, Fenn, Rowe, Swift). Blythe should do well at conti level though so might be able to work his way back up.

Swift is he's just been injured these last couple of years as he's beaten top level sprinters in the past.

I've been told orica greenedge will keep him on their radar. they didn't sign him because the sponsor didn't want more than 1 colombian in the team next year. chaves also wanted a friend in the team (pantano or avila) he may come after next year.

Why wouldn't a sponsor (who, Orica or Jayco) want more than one Columbian on the team?

And just how much control has any sponsor over any teams signing policy?
O.K. some sponsors may want a clean team.

I'm sorry, but I don't see the team management at GreenEDGE allowing a sponsor to say who they can or can't sign or even the nationality of potential targets.

"Sponsor" probably = Ryan, unless Orica haven't caused enough environmental damage in South America to need the exposure.

After the atrocious behaviour of the Australian team at past editions of L'Avenir towards the Colombians (2010 in particular), Chaves is possibly the only one game to sign for GreenEdge. Especially considering Michael Matthews was team leader for 2010 and Hepburn spent most of his 2011 l'Avenir cameo shooting his mouth off.

Team management probably want to cover their backsides.

Nobody will beat Porte or Froome at next years Giro or Tour.

Well Porte often has a day off in the GTs so I while he is a favorite for the Giro I wouldnt put all my saving on a Giro win for Porte, though his chances are much bigger with Nibali doing the Tour.
