Beppe Conti on fire:

- Contador seems likely to try again Giro-Tour in 2015 and this is why he pushed to have Basso on board as a gregario; the italian seems to have already signed a pre-contract.
- Pozzato seems sure to be leaving Lampre and he got many offers including the ones from Boonen's Omega and Cancellara's Trek; in both cases he would be a gregario and not a co-leader.
- Wiggins back to Garmin which will have Sharp as first team sponsor
- Evans to Orica
- Hushovd would follow Sagan (but doesnt mention the team:confused:) as a support role
- Malacarne is requested from Movistar/Sky/Astana.
- Sky is trying to get Talansky and having close talks during Dauphine.
- Astana is gonna update Aru's contract and trying to get both Barguill and Mezgec.
- Andrea Guardini most likely returning to Luca Scinto.

its a bit OT,but pretty funny...
When I played pcm about 2 years ago(not playing anymore)I played with O.pharma and I wanted to have a significantly best team for cobbles race, cuz I like to race them in pcm (better than st.races).;)I had exactly this team even with pozzato, and terpstra was the best of them (since Boonen already declined) and was two times PR winner. So watch out next year!

They were even more last year, with Chavanel

I'm not sure I would welcome this. As much as I quite like Wiggo, I'm afraid he will be a balast to team's budget that will not be justified by his results. And I love Garmin's name and colours so I might not be entirely happy with Sharp taking over as a main team sponsor as well.

I saw that coming. I think there's a big possibility that Garmin will lose Talansky and it will be a big blow for the team. Poor Vaughters. The same story as with Wiggins and Vanmarcke. Each time the team develop a rider to be capable of doing big things in a year or two, they're losing him to another team. :(

So wrong that he was the first to say that Nibali would have gone at Astana months before the 2012 TDF or the first to predict Sagan to leave Cannondale.
Yes he says a lot of bull***** , but sometimes he got it right. Also is fun to hear and discuss transfers rumours, even if most of the times are never going to happen

Vanmarcke developed by Garmin? Puh-lease.

I hope so LaFlorecita, since net year Contador's targetting Giro-Vuelta, which would leave Tour's GC to Schleck... or the green one to Sagan I guess.

Well, not like he owes where he is to the fact he was riding for Garmin (he had some success before), but the point is that he left the team just before they were going to benefit big time from having him onboard. They invested in him but didn't get the benefit of it.

I guess they didn't do bad job with him, though. Otherwise he wouldn't be getting results straightaway after moving to another team.

You don't think it says a lot about Garmin that he got significantly better immediately after leaving?

What?? Vanmarcke was amazing at such a young age especially in 2011 Paris Roubaix where he rode an incredible race.

I don't think he improved much between '10 and '11. He was already quite good for his age.

It certainly isn't because of Garmin that he is so good now.

Well, he top10 in more cobbled classics in 2012 than in 2013, but I think it's little point in discussing it here. I've already admitted that he doesn't owe where he is to Garmin and that's enough.

Kelderman?
-Will need a team where he'll have the chance to be leader. Replacement for Hesjedal at Garmin? GC leader for Orica? Share GT leadership spot with TJVG at BMC? Europcar and Giant would also have room for another GC rider. Or first GC rider in Giants case.

Vanmarcke?
-Tough one, will also need a team where he is leader for the classics. AG2R has some decent classic riders that I don't think would mind supporting him. Astana, Saxo, Orica, maybe Lotto could also use a top guy for the cobbles.

Gesink?
-with his recent medical problems, I'm thinking it might be good for Gesink to go to a team we'll be a dom for someone else. Might help him rediscover cycling and he'd be put under less pressure to perform.
