Rein Taaramae has apparently stated he wants to rid for a WT team why not Sky?

God no! If Cofidis can't/won't return to WT then I'd ideally see him in Greenedge or maybe in Cannondale.

He already made friends from GE in Turkey :p

Does anybody know if Rohan Dennis is under contract for 2015? He would be a good replacement for Thomas for the shorter stage races.

Dennis is the potential Aussie GC rider that Orica should be going after. Huge talent.

Hushovd will not get his contract extended with BMC, AIM has shown intrest so has several other french teams, nothing about a new team will be announced until the 1 august following UCI rules.

he could fill Gabba Rasch's role @Sky.

Dennis DOES go off contract but has stated he's happy with his current situation at Garmin. Any move to OGE maybe a couple of years time.

Make of that what you will. At this stage, he can only be gauged on potential given that he's yet to finish a GT. He's been a long term track team mate (esp teams pursuit) of Durbridge, Hepburn & Meyer so there should be some reasonable chemistry there.

Taramae has been around for long enough to suggest he's not a real GT contender.

I'd steer away from Wiggins; his best is behind him and with his stated track ambitions for 2016 I just can't see the "return on investment" let alone the potential impact on a team that thrives on it's "team ethos".

Keldermann would've been very high on my shopping list but his Giro results has probably kicked up his price ...... and his place on the Belkin pecking order for retention amongst it's GT men (most definitely above Gesink and arguably above Mollema).

Yes, no point just signing someone for the sake it. Agree that Wiggins wouldn't be a good fit. Maybe the best strategy is just to focus again on developing their talented young climbers in 2015 and wait for Porte to be available in 2016.

Actually, it would be so typical Riis to pick up a guy like Thor right now, he is getting old, he must be cheap but he can ride the cobble classics and sprint.
2 types of riders that Oleg said they were short on.

It would not surprise me one little bit if he ends up on Saxo now, not one bit.
The only "but" I would add is I am not sure Riis is Thors cup of tea, in the past he always been a bit arrogant or reserved in questions about Saxo and Riis, but lets see.

I would say you can count on professional behavior from both Riis and Hushovd if they understand it's the best deal from both parts

not a surprise...

Not even for him. He said he got paid for wins in the past and did not live up to that paycheck anymore. It was the first time in his carrer when the team decided it was time to go and not his own but he accepted it. Glad that he is not too blinded by his victories in the past.

He's been rather poor this season, but Cannondale are already short on good climbers. Plus he wont find a team where he has as many opportunities as he did at Cannondale

or yeah, maybe they are disbanding.

Glad he stayed. I was not sure if he wanted to lead a smaller team after his recent success at Roubaix. Because he will still be the second man behind Boonen for at least another year.

If Tony Martin also extends his contract, the two of them could add some more TTT world titles.

After this years classics season, he could almost claim co leadership at OPQS, why would he move to a smaller team. Make sure you're better than Boonen and the best team in the world is yours.

He wasn't better than Boonen and Stybar in Paris-Roubaix though.

For all that it seems like he's been around forever and won a hundred races, Tom Boonen is only 33 (he's been a pro since 2000 and has "only" won 89 races). I think there's at least one more Monument in the man, myself.
