EBH? Was rumored to his team earlier in the year and is suppose to announce team tomorrow. And looks like Alonso's team is moving forward.

But according to the manager they cannot talk to riders until the team officially exists on Oct. 1.
Of course the Alonso people will have been talking to riders already, despite the words of the manager, but announcing riders would probably be a step too far.

If a training partner i norhternmost Norway was mentioned in the latest article i find it har to any but a local Norwegian, what was the stagieres name?

Stavanger is hardly the northernmost norway more like south west, but I guess you mean Norway is far north. Svein Eirik Bystrøm will sign for two more years as far as I understood.

Great.

So who is he going to sign?

EBH
Andy Shleck
Carlos Betancur
Alejandro Valverde(*)
Chris Horner
Sammy Sanchez
Little prince Cunego
Cadel Evans(**)

* For discussion points only. It will be really bad if he leaves Movistar...a slap on the face to the organization after they stuck by him when they were Caisse.
** BMC has been an overall failure the last few years. Remember when they signed Hushov and Gilbert and had Cadel and Ballan and then they stole Phinney from Trek? They were supposed to be the TEAM. 4 world champions, classic experts, TDF geniune threats, the future of USA (It was supposed to be Phinney, Ben King & Bouche, so US not looking good either)

I re-read this and saw that this team, w/o Betancur, will average like 60 yrs old...so maybe only 3 veterans in that group.
I'll go with one more...a real KILLER signing: Bradley Wiggins....OH SNAP

Konig would be a great signing for Alonso. IMHO I would not even go near any of the older riders. Young Spanish talent and EBH would be a great team to start with.

I would take Frank Schleck over Andy Schleck and probably without Andy. Andy seems totally gone to me, never coming back to a reasonable level. Frank might still be usefull for a team for a year or two.

Roche, Konig, Moriabito, Cummings.

Plenty of climbers available.

Also from Movistar, CQ ranking has,
AMADOR BIKKAZAKOVA Andrey
CAPECCHI Eros
DOWSETT Alex
GUTIERREZ PALACIOS Jose Ivan
LASTRAS GARCIA Pablo
MORENO BAZAN Javier
PLAZA MOLINA Ruben
SANZ UNZUE Enrique
SZMYD Sylwester
VALVERDE BELMONTE Alejandro
VENTOSO ALBERDI Francisco Jose

as possibly leaving so some of these might be available.

I would not touch Horner, Cunego, Evans, Andy Schleck or Sanchez.

Valverde I would go for because he has had an excellent year in 1 day races, he has won 6 of them I think. Also could lead the team at the Vuelta and do a decent job.

Betancur you probably really need to talk to and try and judge where he really is at. Is he going to be motivated or has he totally lost all desire to be as good as he can be?

tehy did not steal Phinney from Radioshack(trek)
Phinney smelled what was coming (lance going down, radioshack-leopard merger) and decided to go elsewhere

except that phinney signed with bmc 2 years before lance fell down....

Some interesting names from Cannondale and Garmin are still unsure about next year. Some of them could be good for Alonso:
Oscar Gatto, George Bennett, Johan Vansummeren, Steele Von Hoff and Tyler Farrar. Also Lachlan Morton if they're able to rejuvenate his talent.

Must be quite painful for Petacchi not getting resigned after he was pulled out of retirement because the team really needed him. Maybe he doesn't want to continue, with the way Cav has been racing (although not entirely Cav's own fault) and Renshaw back he's quite useless

No way Valverde will leave Movistar. Unzue and him is an unit. And way too many aging divas and leaders for a team.

They need a good base with some local domestiques.

I'll sign David de la Cruz, Pardilla, Verona. Maybe Reynes as a lead-out man if they want a top sprinter.

Veloso, as well. He seems to be better with age.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/team-cannondale-takes-shape-as-vaughters-lines-up-new-roster few more names to go into transfer market if two get deals do and some cannondale lot sign. May sneak spot with alonso. Say George Bennett be good signing for alonso team

Interesting to read that Formolo is the only Cannondale guy that has already signed with the new team. I hope Moser signs with them and gets back on track, is itt at Eneco was a step i the right direction.
