He was overhyped at first, and then underrated after he failed to live up tot he excessive hype.

Business as usual. It's the circle of hype.
He'll be like either TGAK-likely since Kristoff's best results were at Katusha- or turn out like TGBM (of course Mollema still has time and still has a very good palmares currently).

Not much support for him though and he's stated a preference for an english speaking team. With Sky he would simply get much better support as Sky has a much deeper of climbing domestiques.

what are you talking about? in sky he would just be a helper

So König still has no new team. Katusha got Machado, Sky got Poels. Maybe hell ride for Etixx next year. They already have a few Czechs, lost some menpower in the mountains (Poels, De Gendt, Pauwels, Bakelants, all gone) and have a lot of money to spend.

Uran will want sole GC leadership at the Tour. König will want the same. There's no point in them joining forces.

König said he wanted to get leadership at some races, but would not mind working for someone at the Tour. His words, not mine.

Lefevre will slim the team down to 27 riders, and with already 5 new signings I very much doubt they have empty spots left.

They have 26 right now and I hope they re-sign Matteo Trentin. That would be 27 riders, but they are really short on climbers in my opinion! Uran, (Kwiatkowski), Bouet, Brambilla, Verona, Serry, De la Cruz. Thats it.

Trentin is definetely not going anywhere, so yeah, their roster is full.

You can't have everything in one team. They already have a super strong team for both the cobbles and sprints.

To be honest, I'm happy to not see one team do great on EVERY terrain there is. Makes it more interesting if certain teams fight out the stage races and others do so for cobbles and ardennes.

So where are the top 2 from today's u23 time trial going to land next year? I understand that Kung, who came third, will be riding for BMC. But what about Flakemore and Mullen?

It's possible that Mullen will stay at An Post for another year or even two as he is so young. Flakemore surely can't be staying at Avanti though can he? Presumably winning the worlds should get him a ride somewhere bigger. Why haven't Orica got him already? Was he staying at a small team for track commitments / to stay u23 eligible or something odd like that?

It is an irony, as Денис Меньшов "Denis Men'shov" has been transliterated as "Menchov" in Latin script throughout his career, so Machado (ch in Portuguese = [ʃ]) being transliterated as Мачаду (ч = [tʃ]) is a neat piece of symmetry.
Like with Vinokourov, the French spelling stuck.

Which is odd because Menchov's name was always spelled like that even as an amateur in Spain. While Spanish doesn't have /ʃ/, the spelling <sh> is readily understood as noting that sound.

Is Flakemore any more than just a TT specialist ? Orica already has Ewan, Cort & Blyth coming in. M.H Goss is the only confirmed exit at this stage. Howard, Mouris, Bewley and (I think) Kruopis are the only ones coming off contract although Bewley looks to be re-signing. They may be more interested in what Haig and/or Power may have to offer .... as yet no real word on where they may go/any big team interest.

Hard to know what Flakemore can do outside of the TT. All of his big results are in the TT, but I don't think Avanti get to ride many races of note.

I was assuming that Orica were the most likely team because they seem to try to sign every Australian TT rider at some point, but you have a fair point about their existing lineup. Still though, you would think someone would want to give him a chance. In recent times, the u23 TT podium has pretty consistently been occupied by riders who would go on to have at least a pretty decent pro career.

Mullen, well, if you were recruiting for a WT team, you'd be tempted to be a bit sneaky and let An Post look after him for another year and then pick him up when he is slightly older. He will get good racing experience there and lots of practice in small cobbled races. Flakemore needs to be stepping up now though. I think it's hard to develop much further unless he gets a better calendar.

Uran's supporting cast has taken a bit of a hit but obviously Bouet and De La Cruz have been signed as replacements. Alaphilippe and Vakoc could also help a bit next year.

Good point on the u23 riders that may come into the ranks of the trade teams. I would predict that Mullen could be a Sky rider soon.

They are plannig to create one. A little bit off topic, today on rai sport 2 durning the u23 itt the commentators said that by 2017 the uci wants every wt team to have a conti team for young, talented riders. Is that true?
