Have Sky actually had any confirmed signings yet?

I understand there were strong rumours for Poels, Roche, Nordhaug, Konig, Viviani and now Dumoulin but nothing confirmed as yet.

He was rumored to be meeting today a possible main sponsor, with Pinarello already on the list for bikes.

Right after the Tour Petacchi said that both team and him were happy to prolongue 1 more year but Gazzetta reports today that it's not happening and he's looking for a team.

Sutherland signing with Saxo was a pure UCI points deal. At that time Bjarne needed the points to keep WT License/Status. That was when Roche/Kruezinger were signed. They overpaid for all of them. Because of the points value.

As far as how Rory was used. That can be debated. We are seeing Oleg wanting a few Russians on his team. Which he has every right to. And Bjarne brings in the Dane's. Which with his eye for talent is fine. But with Roche & Sutherland leaving you are seeing a sort of reallocation of funds on the team.

No, he cuts several every year. He said earlier this year that there would be even less, ‘if they are not good enough’. I guess that’s Nicki Sørensen he talked about as not good enough. He had asked for years to ride Tour of Flanders and finally got to do the race this year because others were injured. He finished 13th in his first attempt with no experience, but even so and despite his seriousness and loyalty was not offered a new contract.

As for Sutherland, he must have the greatest agent ever and ever in all the history of sport to get a contract with a team as good as Movistar.

Riis has said many times over the years that it's not supposed to be a danish team, that he has set a hard limit of 10 danes absolute maximum at any point in the teams' history, and that the only reason he gets so many is because they're more likely to accept his offers or to be wanted by the sponsor

Yeah I also didn't understand Sorensen non renewal, he's such a strong all rounder with good placings in Amstel as well. Maybe he just wanted to retire. At least he gets to ride Lombardia as his last race, working for Contador.

maybe he has, but I also think he has deserved that place in a good team. Bringing him back to WT was a gamble after his ban and all those years in America, but he has proved that he is a very useful rider for every kind of team.

And he basically comes to Movistar to replace Szmyd - so it can't get any worse anyway

I could actually understand if they let CAS go and kept Nicki, as I feel CAS has gone down hill last 1+ year.

Rory - seems like a decent dom and guess they did need to make space for others, hope Beltran can step in as better mountain dom

As you mention Chris Anker Sørensen still have a contract until 2016 and Nicki don´t but Riis have not forgotten his personal friend Nicki, he have plans with him for the future, think we will hear news soon about the future on the team (my thoughts are DS).

Chris have had a realy bad year, reason is Illnesses and Injuries dumping over him but he is moving the right direction right now according him self, Michael Mørkøv on the other hand have showed absolutely nothing, I think he will have to find an other team when the contract runs out.

The only reason Rory where hired was he had no team and Riis no money so Rory got a chance (actually two) to show what he had to offer, he showed almost same level a a medicore proconti rider and thats not good enough for the level of riders on the team nowdays, Beltran have allready showed that he can and wants (and he is much younger) he will do a good job next year.

Rory did a great job as a domestique for Contador this year. Good signing by Movistar

Good and logical move for Zakarin. He has progressed nicely this season and might be the best Russian GC hope in stage races next year. A bit surprised by Lagutin. Would think that he would be better as a mentor for the younger guys and a guarantee for results in smaller races for Rusvelo.

A quick scan seems to suggest Lagutin is the 2nd highest ranked (CQ) Russian rider this year. Sure most of those points are from small races, but I can see why a Russian team wants to sign him at this point.
