In it's paper edition newspaper El Diario Vasco announces Betancur as the next addition to Movistar after Nelson Oliveira.

Yes! First race I noticed him in was Pais Vasco 13 and has kinda stuck with him, he is super frustrating, but hoping the Movistar culture and the Columbians on the team can make him more comfortable here.

Low risk, high reward. Ill take him!

I wonder if Landa going to Sky played a little part there....

2 of my favorites from the Euskaltel years. I can't root against any of them, hoping the best! And I also think you could add Henao to that list..

Think he'll go to the tour with Froome.

Nah, Mat. Their french team will be primarily consist of English-speaking riders.

Froome, Thomas, Kennaugh, Boswell, Roche, Stannard, Rowe. And most likely Poels and Kwiatkowski if they sign him too.

Wow, I really like Cannondale's signings for 2016 so far!

Agreed. I was a bit worried when it became clear that they were losing their best two riders, but overall the intake seems very strong and quite varied. If they hold on to Formolo, I would say that the "transfer season" was overall a step forward. Speaking of which, any news on Formolo?

Many pieces of news to get through.

Astana: Scarponi and Malacarne extend
Bretagne: Boulo and Guillou to leave
Caja Rural: Domingos Gonçalves from Efapel and Jose Gonçalves extends
IAM: Oliver Naesen in negotiations from Topsport
Jo Piels: Janssen, Poutsma, te Stroet, van der Duin, van Luijk, van Rhee, Vermeulen, Rodenberg, Reinders, Brusselman, Bosman and Bakker all extend, Hoekstra to leave, Roosen to retire
Nippo: Grosu extends.
Orica: Hepburn extends
SEG: Arisen rumoured from Jo Piels
Soudal: Kenny de Haes to leave, possibly to Wanty
Trek: van de Walle to leave
Wallonie: de Winter, Dufrasne, Wertz and Ista all extend, Demoitie to Wanty and Planckaert joins from Roubaix-Lille Metropole
Antoine Demoitié to Wanty is a good move. He deserves a chance to ride some of the bigger races.

Planckaert still at Continental level is getting silly now. He should be getting shots at ProConti or domestiquing at a WT Classics squad.

Really thought he would be going but maybe Landa moving across swayed him or perhaps Sky giving him the freedom at the Vuelta changed his mind.

Yeah, I really don't understand why Wanty or a team like Bretagne isn't interested. A constant stream of top tens isn't bad at all for any team. I hope he has a breakthrough performance next year so he can at least try out PCT for a few years afterwards.

If Landa leads the Giro can't see him doing the Tour at full steam though. Just a hypothetical of placing the nine strongest riders in a team is potentially scary, but what is Kwiatkowski's role in that support team? Surely they will need to have done plenty to placate people with other goals such as Kwiatkowski and Landa that may mean they aren't at their best, plus Nico Roche has always been better at the Vuelta. What about Leopold König? Or one of the Belarusians who've been such a key part of the domestique squad in the last three years?
