ActiveJet applied for the PC license, but got some paperwork problems. I think they'll announce more transfer and their new big sponsor - probably polish petrol giant Orlen.

They should then get Bjarne Riis and then it's sure to have an Eagle on the jersey :p

Not sure there will be one. Maybe there was some misreading some time back when they said they were still after some reasonable sized names to bolster their squad. Plaza looks to fit that bill with his palmares and 2 GT stage wins this year.

This COULD be a reasonable signing if he has the right mind set. Contrary to some belief, OGE has not proven to be just an insider's club for Aussie "mates" but rather a place where riders from anywhere with the right team ethos have "gelled" well with the team vibe, been valued and in a number of cases been successful. Cases in point Albasini, Impey, Chaves, Yates twins, Keukeleire, Tuft & Meier.

It is a primarily English speaking team with most from non-English speaking nations still having high level of English fluency (Albasini, Weening, Keukeleire). I'm not sure how Plaza fits with that although many of the team ARE based in Spain and would have at least some degree of "facility" in Spanish and the likes of White & Stephens are very fluent. It has been noticeable that Chaves has improved his English, albeit with Aussies as his English language "coaches" LOL.

On the riding front, I certainly see Plaza being of more value than Tzurruka on the grounds of his day to day consistency in the mountains whereas Tzurruka is more the opportunist/sniper. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out

"I still have nothing for next year, but I would still like to do another a year. I can still win races. But Wanty Groupe Gobert does not seem to be interested. So I have to find a new team, but I still have no contact." - Leukemans.

Can't we help this man find a team? :( He'd fit in the aging Trek team but Movistar and Lampre needs men for the classics. A Paolini-replacement for Kristoff? Another helper for Sagan who have lost some of his helpers? Orica? MTN?

Cyclingfever has Acevedo confirmed as leaving Garmin next year while CQ has him confirmed staying... Anyone has more info about him ? His two years in Europe were getting worse and worse but I guess that was mostly because of injuries. Or maybe not ?

I believe CQ got it wrong and Acevedo will leave. They have been showing him as confirmed at Cannondale for next year for many weeks, but he was on 2-years deal signed for 2014-2015 and there wasn't any news about him renewing.

I don't know what's with him. He got injured during the winter 2014, but then recovered OK with 9th places in California and Tour de Suisse. Then he went to Tour de France, crashed on cobbled stage and abandoned later. He seemed to be in OK form again in April this year, with 4th in GP Miguel Indurrain and then starting Pais Vasco race decently, but then he was awful in the Giro and barely raced since then. I have read nothing about him lately.

Björn Thurau will leave Bora, they both agreed on a dissolution of the contract. They want to focus more on GC and he doesn't fit in. He has a new team and will anncounce that in a couple of days. Maybe Cult-Stölting?

What sort of rider is he?
Breakaway-rider in lumpy stages=?

Wouldn't Bernadeau probably take him? He has been a loyal force within Europcars semi-classic team.

Bernaudeau has a distorted logic which is basically, Give me a WT licence and I will recruit more riders.

I heard he was leaving, but then Uran signed and he wants Acevedo to stay.

On other news: It seems the fat cat is dealing with Lampre

From the same source, Beltran is dealing with an Italian team.

Also FDJ...

I suppose if they are turning into a team that is riding for a sprint or for GC, than there is less room for breakaway specialists. Sill though, do they really have GC riders of a calibre that deserve full team support? Sprinters, sure. But they did nothing on GC really this year. Their results are all in sprint stages or the occasional one day race.

The guy who was signed as their GC leader for this season, Nerz, had a disastrous year. He ended up on 36 CQ points. Are they thinking of Buchmann and Muhlberger? They may be very good prospects, but they'll be a second year neopro and a first year neopro. So clearing people out to provide full support seems a bit previous.

Thurau is a solid helper in the classics. One to send up the road that can team up with his leader later on and do some work.

I can't imagine no one wants to use him. He's no star, never really had his breakthrough. But he can be a solid waterboy in stage races and a useful domestique in the classics.

A team like Direct Energie, FDJ or AG2R for example should be interested. Maybe even Trek.
