What is oxidized, found in trees, runs like a Gazelle, and will be colored green in 2016? (Answer tomorrow)

Looks like Rusty Woods to Cannondale-Garmin
Not sure about the riddle but they've signed Patrick Bevin from Avanti. Good pickup, looked like he was going to Saxo. He did a camp with them earlier in the year.

With Bonifazio moving to Trek, does that mean Lampre are confident of keeping Modolo, or is he also leaving?

Strong rumours of Modolo to Etixx. Lampre just don't look like a team that wants to win much in the future. They're now down to Costa, Cimolai and Ulissi for results.

How strange is the fact that NONE of the Europcar riders have signed anywhere ?
They know an announcement is coming ? No team want Rolland, Coquard, Boudat, or Gautier ? Weird.

They had some sort of agreement with Bernadeau not to sign anywhere else before mid august.

The deadline was 15th of August, and almost a week later, no one has moved.
Don't know if it means Bernaudeau told them he has an announcement to make soon or if no team want them...

Cannondale confirm Bevin (Avanti) and Mullen (An Post). The team maintains their quota of Irishmen who slipped through the fingers of British Cycling.

Good signings. As is Wippert. However young neopros, even very promising young neopros, or second tier sprinters, aren't going to make up for apparently losing two of their three star riders. If Martin and Hesjedal go, that should free up a considerable portion of their wage budget, so presumably we will also see a more expensive rider or two coming in?

Maybe if they were applying for Pro-Continental status. Vaughters really destroyed that team.

Cannondale signing a lot of riders. I'm guessing Vaughters is getting rid of most of his Italian riders
They've already lost Martin and Hesjedal, Ted King ends his career and Danielson will probably not race in 2016. There's plenty of space already.

Clearly the riders signed thus far are not replacements for Ryder, Danielson, or Martin. I think it's highly likely that a lot of the former Liquigas riders will moving on.

That's Bettiol, Formolo, (Ted) King, Koren, Marangoni, Mohorič, Moser and Villella. Of whom I'd keep Formolo, Moser and Villella and you can make a case for Bettiol and Mohorič being too young to have shown what they are capable of yet (though you couldn't blame anyone for getting rid of them).

He had a big meeting in London on Monday and a decision is expected soon. But then all of these negotiations have been said to be resolved soon and if the British company are so keen, why couldn't he have offered them sponsorship in March or something?

I guess that's the pattern with Vaughters' team, like with the merger with Cervelo. THey get the bike sponsor and 7-8 riders that stay for just 1 season in the merged team.

OGE will be a good fit for Taaramae, wonder if that is one of the two teams he's got offers from.

I also had the same thought regarding Taaramae.

Why so ?? He's not likely to ride high GC & it's not as if he's a top rank domestique. He's been a national TT champion but that does not equate to being elite in any way.

I'm struggling to see just what he would "bring to the table" to make him a particularly worthwhile signing.

I was obviously seeing it from the rider's perspective (what would the team give him) and not the team's perspective (what he could give to the team).

Maybe Vaughters doesn't like the new riders' commitment to the original values of his team, which is a perfectly legit reason not to retain them.
