Well, Kwiatkowski confirmed too.
Damn, now they are able to dominate in all races. They will win 20 of the 27 WT races. :D
Don't be silly.
Anything under 10 WT wins would be a fiasco with such a great team.

The Giro with Landa and Tour with Froome is almost given if Nibali and Contador aren't in good shape.
Yeah, it would be a fiasco if they don't win 40% of the WT calendar

I think Kwiatkowski will flop at Sky. Etixx were fairly content to let him go with Alaphillipe now their number one rider for hilly classics, and with Kwiatkowski not making any kind of progress in challenging for GTs.

He'll do a decent job for Froome in the tour and might win a minor week long race, but he's certainly not going to give them 4 or 5 world tour wins a season. Not a good value for money signing imo.

This year they won Paris-Nice and Catalunya (Porte), E3 Harelbeke (Thomas), Dauphiné and TdF (Froome). That's 5, and 2 of them with a guy that left. Who exactly did they sign that will win the other 7?
Good point hrotha ;)

I still don't understand this move. Kwia was upset Etixx didn't fully support his desire to go for GC in a GT and then he goes to the team where he probably has the least chance of being given leadership.

It's still the School of Grand Tour riding, they've had several riders rise to prominence in GT's, even though they weren't leaders, like Froome, Porte and Thomas.

Kwiatkowski is patient. He wont expect leadership in GT for next 4-5 years.
Etixx just had a different vision for him, didn't want to develop his climbing.
I think Kwiatkowski wants to be more of a Valverde type than Sagan type, and Etixx wanted the latter

They just had an interview with Bernhard Eisel on Austrian television, where he practically confirmed Cavendish and him to be at Dimension Data next year. He said nothing is signed yet, but it looks good.

I find it odd how little we're hearing about Renshaw. Maybe Lefevre has offered him better money to mentor Gaviria?

Etixx just signed Richeze who is better than Renshaw anyway

Surprise surprise, Dani Moreno apparently not going to Lampre, but Movistar is the new destination. Betancur is also signed by Unzue, next week it will be official. Source: Sergi Lopez (twitter)

Wow, that would be an incredible get for Movistar and quite a blow for Purito, imo.

Why didn't we see this vision on the road? Etixx mostly used him in the calendar to compete in races that requires climbing against Valverde-type of riders, rather than targetting Sagan-type of races.

Doesn't really make sense from a sporting perspective, but if the money is good then who can blame him.

López-Egea is wrong more often than not.

In case of Spanish riders he is often reliable. He was one of the first who announced the transfers of Landa and Intxausti to Sky. And he is in the Spanish camp in Richmond, so he could have chatted with al the principal actors ( Moreno, Unzue)

Not convinced, Moreno is 34, and when it comes to aging Spaniards who can compete in the hilly-to-mountainous one day races they already have Valverde; if they want to stick him up the road in that kind of race then Ion Izagirre and Giovanni Visconti are good enough to do that role (and Amador if today is anything to go by), and even Betancur if they can get him motivated. If they want him as part of their mountain domestique corps, then they're basically trading Intxausti for somebody who's got five more years on the clock and doesn't offer an appreciable improvement in output. I'd rather they promote somebody like Rubén Fernández to that spot and get in another youngster for development tbh. Nothing against Moreno, and he was an excellent domestique to Valverde back when they were both at Caisse, it's just a bit of an odd call unless he's coming on the cheap, which I'm not convinced he is.

Now for me, the big unanswered question this transfer reason is, anybody going to take a punt on Primož Roglič?
