Rémy Mertz (Color Code-Arden'Beef) rumoured to Soudal.

A bit weird considering the talent they have in their development team and comparing their results to those f Rémy. His numbers might be huge though.

Rémy is a Walloon, that explains it all.
Plus the fact that those talents you're speaking off are too young (and Lambrecht is probably going to BMC).

I see they are taking things slowly for their devlopment riders, only letting the oldest ones become trainees this August, so you might be right. Where did you find the Lambrecht info? BMC is going to have a whole load of nice development riders, with guys like Frankiny, and so does Etixx!

Shaw is from 1996, so not one of the "oldest guys".
Bjorg told me that he has a great offer from the BMC Development team (Frankiny is going pro next year, so he can be there sole leader for the more mountainous races). He said he was probably gonna take that offer, but had a meeting planned with the DS of Lotto Soudal U23 so maybe they have changed his mind.

He's staying with Lotto!

Concerning Gilbert I doubt he cares that much about about the Ardennes anymore, so it does not matter that he will have to be the option for a long range attack or just help Alaphilippe and D. Martin in Fleche and LBL and only aim for Amstel himself in the Ardennes. Gilberts main goal is the Tour Of Flanders, that is what he wants to win, and here he will get as much chance as on any other team being on Etixx. A team that can rely on strength in numbers and where riders that are not the strongest in the race, as Gilbert realistically won't be, has a lot bigger chance of winning due to tactics. I think being on Etixx will maximize Gilberts chance on winning in Flanders, and that is the main reason he has chosen them. Him being a highly profiled Belgian and of course still a great rider, is then the reason they also welcome him.

Being in the team with 4 leaders in Tour of Flanders will surely maximize his chances.

You may disagree, but I think he himself believe that, and I would agree, due to the tactical benefits of having the number-advantage in the end.

Gilbert to Etixx would be a bad move for Gilbert imo. At this point, Martin and Alaphilippe are both better for the ardennes, and Vakoc is a rising star too. Who knows, even Gaviria could end up being a contender for Amstel. So Gilbert would only be a leader for AGR. As for RVV, Stybar is far far better than Gilbert, and even Terpstra and Boonen can argue that they're a better bet.

A rider like Gilbert should not be used as a domestique at this stage of his career

Yeah, we have seen how great Etixx tactics without one leader who is able to follow the strongest riders work.

I think at this stage of his career Gilbert would make a good domestique, he's ageing and there are riders who are better than him at what he does now, in a race like RVV he could be a domestique and still come out with a good result thanks to the nature of the race.

According to Procyclingstats Etixx signed Garcia Cortina, Schreurs and Adrien Costa as trainees. Does anyone have a source other than PCS ?
