From the CN story on Giant-Alpecin:
Cyclingnews confirmed in June that Michael Matthews (Orica) will join the team for next year too, while John Degenkolb is expected to depart for pastures new. The team are expected to also sign a number of other German riders

I didn't think it was confirmed??

So they continue with the German flavour, yet are losing Dekenkolb?! I don't see why Martin or Kittel would leave Etixx (even if the shutting down rumour is correct, that's not until after next season), nor Greipel Lotto, so who would they bring? Maybe it's German-speaking, and relates to the collapse of IAM, especially in light of this bit:

We can reveal, though, that the team will announce the major sponsor on the Tour's first rest-day, with a 1 billion Euros turn-over Swiss based company to be rumoured as the team's new major sponsor.

And Zakarin's mullet will work real well with this:

L'Equipe wrote on Sunday that Alpecin would leave the team and join up as a secondary sponsor at Katusha, but Cyclingnews also understands that no such deal has been signed and that the German brand are still talking to Giant's bosses about remaining on board next season.

Belgian commentators came with rumours during the stage yesterday that Alpecin would depart with Giant and join Katusha, which would mean Giant had to find another co sponsor. I find that one really hard to believe

According to Cyclingnews they will unveil a new Swiss sponsor on the first rest day.

this can make sense

Canyon leaves Katusha
Giant and Alpecin come on board with Katusha

and a guess:

Scott (after IAM folds) joins the former Giant team, with the new sponsor too

Maybe Look to Astana as well!? Astana needs a big bike brand and Look ain't got no major team sponsorship since Cofidis left them.
Why not Colnago for Aru's team? Look is already with Fortuneo who do a great work of displaying the bike on this Tour so they do not have so big incentive to sponsor another team.

I mean, Kazakhstan's such a small market that it doesn't make business sense for Scott to invest big bucks in it.

I said Scott to the former Giant-Alpecin team (while Giant will go with katusha)

and Canyon could get Astana?

wild guesses I know

as long as Cervelo stays with DiData I am fine

Normally Alpecin can't leave Giant but there's a clause whichs states that if degenkolb leaves the team Alpecin can end his sponsorship as well

Katusha is looking for 4 or 5 million euro's i read in the belgian press so Alpecin coming over could be possible...

Canyon's already got Movistar.

I asked Canyon on twitter in March about their 2017 deals with Movi and Katusha

they just said they are taking care of their duties and look forward to a nice 2016 season.

I guess if they had a 2017 deal with Movistar they would have gladly said it.

Apparently Chris Hamilton has signed for World Tour team Giant Alpecin. The 3 year deal should see the current Australian U23 champ race in Europe from 2017 onwards with his first world tour race more than likely the TDU in January.

Yet another rider that comes out of the Praties set-up to sign for a WT team. Porte, Haig, Haas, Bevin, Von Hoff, Flakemore, Earle, Will Clarke and they also had Brenton Jones who could end up on the Cannondale-Drapac roster next season
