Team SunWeb-Giant seems to already have registered a site and twitteraccount.
That's indeed a major Dutch sponsorship of an enterprise based in Switzerland officially.

I suggest they're becoming a big team registered in the Netherlands (again) in that case!?

Although their farm team was rumored to be German, right?

Then why sign more German riders? Again I speculate this is merely German-speaking and thus includes lots of IAM riders.

Cycling Podcast interview with Nico Portal suggests they are in talks with Barguil and SKY really want a French rider...Said they really like Allaphillipe too ..SKY want to open the French market to liking them and not to be seen as robots

Barguil has a 2018 deal with Giant- Alpecin
but maybe with the change in sponsor (Alpecin out, Sunweb in, Giant who knows...) and maybe with the change from German to Dutch license, the contracts can change?

Alaphilippe has a contract for 2017

Yeah, riders have to sign new deals if a team changes licence.

But in this Giant/Sunweb case the license stays the same; the paying agent won't change.

With regard to German riders for Sunweb: maybe they want to expand their market to Germany. Alpecin could sponsor the developement team.

Think it will take more than signing a French rider to do that. Brailsford not speaking like a politician all the time will be a start.

Madiot speaks like a politician too, just a different kind.

Laurens de Vreese renews with Astana for 2 years.
Great helper for Sagans train ;-)
:)
let's hope so

Sagan won't go to Astana.

And how do you know I mean it's still only rumour season!
And guess what he has been rumored there along with Bora :)

According to Vinokourov the chances of Sagan going to Astana are very limited

And teams can't confirm before 1st August right ? Maybe he is telling a little white lie ?

Astana dont have money. Si no big riders un addition next year.

Based on your insight to their finances ?
If they didn't have any money how come they can afford to renew contracts ? And assuming issue pay rises then to current riders ie Super Miguel Lopez.

Kazakh economy has taken a pounding due to the low oil price, the Astana sport club which the cycling team is a part of has suffered a big budget cut.

Sagan is clearly ,based on what we currently know, going to Bora
Contador is going to trek.
Astana probably do have to be more money aware, I was told as much from a Kazak friend who is well connected over there to say the least.

Where do people expect the yates to ride next year?

I exspect Simon will now stay at Orica since the suspension will reduce his apeal to teams. Also they have always said they'd be prepared to go to separate teams. You'd imagine if they were to stay they would have signed by now though?

Also i've heard a rumour Simon has a lawsuit against Orica as to quote adam "they ruined his career". A deal with Simon for that could involve a larger than usual contract for Simon because of the damage.

He only sat out a few months so if he thinks his career has been ruined then he really needs to grow up, I doubt any lawsuit would get very far but that's only with my limited knowledge :D

Really it would seem quite straightforward since the team accepted full responsibility. Also Sky the team where he would earn the most money in the future wont sign him now. Therefor lost revenue?

Plenty of other teams with big enough budgets that could sign him and just because Sky has the biggest budget doesn't automatically mean thats where he would earn the most. As for the lost revenue part, well it is a hard one to prove as we have seen plenty of young cyclists come through who promised and showed alot only to never fulfill that potential.
With the possible lawsuit, you might be right

No British riders can earn a lot more money at the only British team. Daniel Friebe spoke about this re Froome, as a good British rider is obviously more valuable to a British team. Hence higher salary than at a non British team
