Gianni Savio confirmed that Bernal will be a Skybot from 2018 onwards.

The heir to the throne for Froome perhaps. Good place for him to grow for a few years.

Not sure what that does for British Cycling but hey.

Gilbert extended his contract for 2 years with QS.
I guess that says a lot about whether the team will exist next year(s) or not.

edit: old news.

Might not mean anything, there has to be a clause in the contract for that.
Still, QS are designing a 4-year plan, so they must know something more than we do :p

From today's L’Équipe:

Florian Sénéchal (Cofidis) to Lotto-Soudal.

I think bad choice, Lotto has not managed to make the young progress ... Examples: Wellens, Vervaeke or even Benoot, are stuck in the progression of him ....
Better would be Movistar or a French team

The UAE ran out of Zakarin already, only the Aru option remained ... They had shown interest in Aru and / or Zakarin ....
After the great start of Tour de Uran, do you think it will leave? Bahrain had already mentioned that he wanted Uran for 2018!

Movistar is probably the worst possible choice for a Classics wannabe contender.

I was not referring to the classics, but to working with young people to boost their future ...

That's because only Benoot out of the 3 has the chance to progress into a star. Wellens and Verveake were never that great

And it's not like Benoot isn't making any progress. Maybe not as a cobbles specialist, but definitely on other terrain.

I agree about Wellens, although I'm a fan, he was a bit overrated by the Belgian media, not by the team or by himself, but by the Belgian media. For some reason they labelled him as a future GC rider, while he never was that good of a climber in the u23 ranks. Vervaeke was though, he was impressive in his last year as a u23 rider, but that he isn't making a lot of progress lately, is not the fault of the team, knowing that he has a trainer that isn't "approved" by the team while he was pretty good last year in Pais Vasco, Catalunya and Romandie with his previous trainer that was working with Lotto Soudal. He's not a future GT winner, but he definitely has the talent to be a descent GC rider.

Vervaeke admited that he suffered from overtraining in this spring and he kind of blamed also the coach about this. Surprisingly enough, he still is with that coach and they will try to do things in a different way from now on.

That's what i meant, that coach isn't associated with "Energy Lab" who are working with Lotto Soudal. His previous coach was. It's a bit weird that he's still with that coach tbh. Nevertheless, going to Sunweb to work for Dumoulin is probably a good choice.

Landa reveals his decision at the end of the Tour, normally staying with Sky or a transfer to Movistar.

I'm baffled by the fact that his two choices are Sky and Movistar - the only two teams where we can't have sole leadership for a GT which is what I thought he wanted?

I guess being at Astana also he just likes rich and well equipped teams? That's all I can think of.

Well, at Movistar he can go to the Giro as only leader, as surely Quintana won't go the Giro again anytime soon and Valverde, if he comes back to his best, can be a bit too older for that. Apart from this two guys, Movistar don't have anyone to fight for the win.

And he probably won't be forced by Unzue to do the Giro/Tour double.

Astana wouldn't really be a choice. He had already been there and he may have had a couple of problems with Vino, or Martinelli.
Movistar is obviously a better choice than Sky, but somehow I was expecting him to go to other team so that he could be a leader... or co-leader.

Anyway, if he indeed ends up at Movi*, may we start thinking that Unzue knows Valverde won't be returning to his best level?

No, the arrival of Landa stands on it's own. The president of Telefonica wants a strong Spanish leader who eventually can win the Tour on one day with the M of Movistar + Landa as a Spanish leader is very attractive for potential sponsors who can connect with Movistar.
