according to beppe conti (italian journalist tuttospost + rai), in case the team sky should close (froome doping + intrest in a SKY motoGP team) these could be the transfers :

puccio + moscon to bahrain merida
kwiat to quicksetp
bernal to movistar
poels to lotto nl
rosa to mitchelton

Sky are currently subject to three separate takeover offers from Fox, Disney and Comcast. Comcast in particular has extensive cycling interests and Fox is already a sponsor of the team. Also with Sky's control of F1 broadcasting rights why would they launch a motogp team?

"Team Disney"?

not sure if Quick Step and LottNl would have the money to pay them

imagine if BMC folds what a wealth of riders would be on the market

IMHO. Specialized does not have a Big Time Rider. On the CRUX. They should sign Wout.

There isn't a 'Team Specialized'. However, Bora rides Specialized, they have this Slovakian rider who's pretty good...

I sincerely did not get your post. Does it imply that Specialized has no famous rider representing em?

He's talking about cyclo-cross. Afaik, Štybar doesn't ride on the CruX.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that the CRUX only belongs into CX races. I just did not get the "Big Time rider".
As RedheadDane said, about Road cycling I am not affraid for Specialized lack of representation!

Lotto of Lotto-Jumbo will end sponsorship after this year, but they claim to have a new sponsor.

The folding of Sky would be a fun hypothesis. So many quality riders free on the market would be fun.

the team already exists (https://sport.sky.it/motogp/srt/fot...ky-racing-team-vr46-presentazione-2018.html#3)and partecipates in moto2 and moto3. there is talk of a possible landing in motogp for 2019 or 2020 in collaboration with valentino rossi.

it's sponsored by Sky Italy though, as far as I know. And even for a potential MotoGP team we'd speak about costs of less than 10 million Euro a year

"Lotto Soudal has been heavily linked to Greg van Avermaet in recent weeks but Cyclingnews understands that Bahrain Merida have already put together a proposal for the BMC Racing rider should his current team fold - or he decides he wants to leave - as he's out of contract this year."

Bora extends their sponsorship deal with the Bora Hansgrohe team until 2021.

I’m not particularly surprised. I maintain that Bora have probably got the best value of out of cycling sponsorship of any current commercial sponsor in recent years. They were footing the bill for running a top end PCT team on their own, then they effectively moved to splitting a WT budget three ways with Hansgrohe and Specialized. That has meant vastly more exposure for probably not all that much more money, particularly through Sagan whose salary they don’t even have to pay.

They are also about the right size of a company with about the right international spread of operations for cycling to actually make sense as a way of increasing brand profile.

What a surprise...

A rider with GT-leading ambitions goes to a team with Quintana and Valverde, what could possibly go wrong? :D
