The most intriguing aspect of this whole transfer is that Rodriguez is not that obvious a super talent that is going to set the world on fire. I really don't get what Ineos sees in him. Sure, he was dominating the Spanish junior scene this year, but on an international level he is not among the most successful junior riders of his generation. Firstcycling ranks him on a good, but not very exciting 21st
place in 2019. That being said, Spain has a tradition of being bad on an international junior level so Rodriguez stands out. But it remains a very strange transfer.
