According to Wielerupdate, according to Tuttosport Nibali held and offer from Sky. He asked permission to leave, but Liquigas required him to stick to his contract (till end 2010).

That is interesting as i had heard they were after Nibali but didn't know whether it was true or just rumor. Also that Liquigas knocked him back i think is a bit strange as they already have Kruezinger, Basso and Pellozotti + others like Szymd will be looking for more money soon after good performances so i thought they might be looking to offload one of their GC men. But if i was gonna offload one it wouldn't be Nibali so i guess i do see their logic as well.

Team Enduro signed Jack Bauer, Ian Wilkinson, Rob Hayles and Rob Partridge. They also applied for a 2010 Pro Continental status.

Does anyone else find this hilarious? Jack Bauer riding for a Pro-continental squad. Maybe the next season of 24 will involve Jack Bauer saving a major bike race from terrorists.;)

I guess if he had to make a phone call and give his name, I guess it would go like this:

OPERATOR: "Hello, who is this?"
JACK BAUER: "Jack Bauer"
OPERATOR: "Sir, your real name"
JACK BAUER: "It is my name. I'm Jack Bauer"
OPERATOR: "Sir, I don't have time for jokes"
JACK BAUER: "I'm not joking"
OPERATOR: "If you don't give me your real name, I will hang up"
JACK BAUER: "Jack Bauer"
OPERATOR: *Hangs up*
JACK BAUER: "Customer service these days"

Jay Leno once said he always goes by "James Muir" when ordering pizza, otherwise they hang up on him.

I would start every phone call with: "is this a secured line?" :D

Gianni Savio, Lampre, and Astana all turn down Gilberto Simoni. Savio said no because he would never offer Simoni a 'minimum wage' contract (that's all they could offer), Lampre said no, and Astana wanted him to ride the Giro and the Tour in support of contador, but Simoni only wanted to ride the Giro and then retire, so Astana said no.

My name is Michael Kane but people around where I grew up couldn't spell so my nickname was Alfie, I was blamed for Zulu being on every christmas in the UK and I would always have to do the 'My name is......' speech when I started a new school or college. So I give Jack my full support.

Australia’s Zak Dempster will ride for Britian's Rapha-Condor next year. IIRC there are more then 300,000 Aussies in Britian at any one time, so I guess one more won't hurt.

Rumors are Enrico Franzoi will sign for BKCP this weekend.

That's a cool news.
So probably Albert's team are gonna do a few more/bigger road races in the off season.

Vastarante return pro with a small greek team.

Very interesting news indeed. It'll be interesting to see what he will accomplish. Maybe he has lost his chance of becoming a contender for stage/classics wins but can still win smaller races.
