the renewals are Cofidis, Lampre NGC and Milram , who are the other 2??

mcquad said "one or two wont be renewed"... so cofidis, and perhaps lampre.. i think milram need to be kept in to try and keep what few germans and elements of the german media that are still interested in cycling onside

Tomas Vaitkus and Grégory Rast are set to join the The Shack for next year. Dirk Demol is confirmed as one of the DS's on the squad and it is yet to be confirmed if Bruyneel will be there next year, but everybody knows that he will.

AG2R is one of the other 2, and I think BBox.

Theo Eltink given the boot by Skil Shimano.

Skil have given the boot to a few riders now...any ideas who they may be looking to pick up? If they are applying for a PT license they will most definitely need to bolster the roster right?

Contador has apparently agreed to ride for the biggest cancer in cycling. Patrick Lefévère.

That's quite the coup for QuickStep.

Still to be officially confirmed, though.

Jens Viogt re-signs with Saxo Bank.

Classy comments by Riis about Voigt and by Voigt about Saxo Bank. You get the impression that this team is as tight and well-organized as they are good.

I've got to tell y'all, don't count Caisse D'Epargne out yet. I think they're workin' overtime to get a second sponsor onboard, they are quietly putting a nice squad together that I have heard no comments about on this thread. In the recent weeks they have acquired Christophe Moreau, Marzio Brushegin, and Maurizio Soler. Those three alone, make up a nice looking support staff for a Singular leader in the GT's. Possibly named Alberto Contador? Already on the team is Luis Leon Sanchez who would also be good support rider for this group in next years TdF. I don't know about you guys, but Caisse D'Epargne is making me a believer. Let's see what September brings.

Agreed. Sept 5th is still the date. I'm still saying Cervelo is in with a shout but think Caisse is right up there. Contador would look super in their kit to.

Not that I consider myself a "fanboy" of any team in particular, :p but I would love to see AC in a Caisse or Cervelo kit next season ;)

Also, where did you hear/read about this September 5th Contador announcement date?

Who knows? Although I'm seeing more and more P4s at the local TTs, so perhaps sales are looking up :p

Or perhaps (and I think I remember reading a story on cyclingnews about it) they have managed to find a second big budget title sponsor?

Kessiakoff and Vansummeren to Garmin

Apparently they reached an agreement with van Summeren before the TdF, but due to budget issues, the contract couldn't get signed untill today (they found some money somewhere). According to "het belang van Limburg".

Redbull is mentioned as the main sponsor for Alonso's 2011 cycling team, and Skoda - already official car suppliers for teams - as a subsponsor for $4mil. The entire budget is rumoured to lie in the $16-17mil range.

Contador and Red Bull?

I just found this at http://www.blogsciclistas.com/2009/08/red-bull-podria-ser-el-patrocinador-del.html

My rough translation:

The sponsor for Alonso and Contador's team could be Red Bull.

According to El Correo daily, Red Bull, the energy drink multinational, could step in to sponsor Fernando Alonso's cycling team. The team would have a budget of 16 - 17 miilion euros, and would only come on board if Alberto Contador raced with the team.

Another multinational that could also step in could be Skoda, the Tour de France and various other teams' official vehicle, which might contribute 4 million Euros and team vehicles. A cycling company coud also provide 3 miilion more plus all the cycling equipment.

The only problem is that Contador's contract with Astana runs through 2010, so the team might not get up and running until 2011.

hmmm if it is true, the only reasoning i can see for ac moving to quickstep would be that QS are the only team willing to buy out his contract and spend the big bucks on him. Maybe Caisse just can't afford it at this point. This would be an indication that he really wants out of astana anyway. (not that astana are gonna be all that strong next year, and with Vino may struggle to be invited to all the races) Maybe a 1 year contract with QS?
