This is the first time I can remember seeing Peters since he won that Tour stage where Zakarin disappeared from existence on the descent.

Peters probably needs to slow down at some point to not destroy his record of winning only in Grand Tours.

What is the race situation looking like at the moment for those unable to watch?
23 km left, Nans Peters out in front, chased by this group of 8 (about 40 seconds back):

Gap to the next group on the road is a bit uncertain atm.

Very wet conditions.

Edit: Nevermind, the chase group seems to have grown on the descent now.

Covi crashed but he's now back in the chasing group. Impressive. He'll drop them all in a bit. Or Gregoire wins this.

Timed a gap of about 50 seconds, looking really good for Peters.

Edit: and up to a minute 2 minutes of descending later. He should pull this one off if he doesn't crack on the final climb.

A Peters win is not out of the question here. A rather big gap, he seems more comfortable on the wet descents, and he doesn't have to play any tactical games with anyone.
