Peters really not descending that well. Cuts inside too soon, which has him go wide coming out of the turn.

I guess it didn't require a demon descender to make Zakarin look bad, but I still remember him as being quite decent. Maybe crashes have affected him since then.

The benefit of being away solo and being able to go 100% all of time against a small group where each rider has to save something is sometimes quite underestimated, I feel. So many times when a rider gets away on his own from a small group, the race is over.

Or Arkea's, in which case it will be Pichon, or Ponomar.

In cobbled classics it's also the lack of having to fight for position before the climbs and being able to ride your own pace into them instead of the hectic accelerations that often happen in the main group.

@Logic-is-your-friend Debruyne 24th, that's pretty good I would say. Hopefully he can have a crashfree year and then I'm convinced he'll get some good results (not in GCs but overall) & a pro contract at Lotto (even tho there isn't that much space on their roster after this year).

According to RAI, Ramses Debruyne is still in the peloton. Which is great news, he's still only 20, but had some great results as a junior, but then fell off the face of the earth and had some rough years. Seems like he's resurfacing now.
