Fortunately the olympic cycling events (and the Vuelta) are all early morning - so need to find a sports bar that serves breakfast.

But I agree that the business aspects of Universal Sports is very hard to fathom. I suspect that they are getting ready to completly change their programming (24-hour reality show anyone?).

If you want to watch after work,

http://www.cyclingtorrent.nl

sign up as a member, and you get to torrent cycling races. It is one of the few "legal" torrent sites as it just takes things off the TV, which is not as bad.

You can always find the stage by versus, eurosport, & sbs so pick your commentator!

BTW this was site not found....

gotta have that 's' at the end.

great website!

Before you go any further you should read the cyclingtorrents.nl user agreement.

clicking user agreement = Server not found

Check out Brian's BitTorrent FAQ and Guide.
clicking = blank page

It shouldn't be the difficult!!!!

It goes from bad to worse :(

Got this from Universal Sports:
Effective Friday, all online live events and replays on demand will be available exclusively to DIRECTV, DISH and cable customers who have Universal Sports as part of their television package. Individual long-form events and sport packages will no longer be offered for sale online, but will be free to users who verify their subscriptions on our website. There is no additional charge for this service and a customer’s subscription will not be affected. As always, anyone who visits our website can enjoy video highlights, photos and breaking news for free without authentication.

So I have to figure out How I will get to see the Vuelta...and will no longer have access to the Giro replays. Meanwhile they credited my CC for $2.40 of the $42.50 I paid them.

I got this too..I was very disappointed! We're not into television and just have the barebones uverse basic TV. I've used Universal for the Vuelta and Giro last year and the Giro this year. I was looking forward to watching the Vuelta this year too.

I use cyclingtorrents-great site!

I'm going to try some of the live feed links on this site:

http://www.steephill.tv/vuelta-a-espana/

Sometimes I can get a good Eurosport live feed, which is how I saw part of the TDF.

Eurosport is good for the tour....gazetta.it is excellent Giro coverage ..
Spring classics cant be beat on sporza..

The downside is if you can't watch live there is no full replay.

Yes, universal sucks

Does anybody have any notion of what is available in the US for 2013?

No news yet :(

NBC Sports usually does TDU but nothong on their site yet.

Universal usually starts with Strade Bianchi but they don't have a schedule up either...

Last year the NBCSports cycling schedule was published January 9. So I assume the 2013 NBC Sports schedule will posted soon.

MSNBC still doesn't have Epic Race Schedule updated but perusing the listings I found a TDU preshow on Sunday 1/20 and a highlights show Tues-Friday all at 3:30 PM EST.

Europsort was really extending it's cycling coverage last year. Strade Bianchi, Trentino, Plouay ....

Hopefully they could get back the Tour de Suisse anytime!
