C'stoned has probably not been near those two rides, he just got caught up in his need to disagree with what ever he percieves to be the majority opinion around here.:D

And my biggest fan is probably just here to do his usual psychological-pseudo-analyzes. I don't care about the things you care about.
cobblestoned just means it nice. He is a good person.

Look dude, if I want to, I get on my bike and reach some classic's roads, cobbles and hills faster than you can write "cobblestoned".
Jealous ?

I did those roads and races and watched that mess more often, than you changed your underwear.

So, what are you talking about ?

I could also ask a good friend of mine living there near Laguna Beach.
He has a famous name. Perhaps you know him. But California is BIG. I know.

btw, good luck with that San-Andreas guy. Be nice to him. :D
I life near a big lava-bubble. Thats not much better.

Here's a nice primer about riding Roubaix. Very cool blog. He needs more viewers:

http://www.cyclinginquisition.com/2010/04/paris-roubaix-race-ride-and-ernest.html

later on he meets JV at the airport coming back from Roubaix

http://www.cyclinginquisition.com/2010/04/jonathan-vaughters-incident-tale-of-two.html

and then JV helps him settle an argument with his wife! How cool is that!

Great now that you have two threads going I don't know where to put this! This time to PR and RvV bring some Superglue. If any skin part starts rubbing against something and its enough to cause a blister you can put a few drops of superglue on the area and presto! Instant callus!*

*And, No...I am NOT kidding!! Have fun!

Well, it appears to be certain now.

The 2012 Paris Roubaix Challenge will take place on April 1, 2012... which is the of the day of the Tour of Flanders and the day after the ToF Clyclosportiv.

This sucks (in my humble opinion, of course).:(

Apparently they want a closed course and a timed event and can't get that done on the day before Paris-Roubaix.

It's a dilemma, but last year's event was awesome. I don't know what they are thinking... it might even kill the event.

Bad move.

You could consider the VC Roubaix event which is run in June. the club has good will connections throughout the region which affords the opportunity to secure local police road support which is likely a problem for ASO event. In addition it supports the maintenance of the parcours too and dosent miss out on the good bits of the course

Yeah, but I go there in April for RvR and PR. I guess if I lived over there it would be different.

I'd never be able to convince the wifer of two European holidays to follow cycling events.

Bump. maybe lil' bit early but is anyone planning to go next year .....
http://www.parisroubaixchallenge.com/us/homepage.html

This, to me, is a real shame.

The inagural event was last year on the Saturday before the Sunday Hell of the North. It was a beautiful event, extremely well run... absolutely top shelf.

This year they have organized the event the Sunday before the actual Paris Roubaix which happens to be the day of the Tour of Flanders and the day after the Flanders Cyclo.

For those of us riding the full Flanders course it's 256kms... at least eight hours on the bike. There's no way I will be able to do the PR Challenge the next day and even if I did, spectating the Rode would be impossible.

In my opinion, this year's scheduling of the PR Challenge was not thought out very well... in fact it's foolish.

So, I'm really bummed because it was so much fun last year.

Exactly, Scott. That's why I'll stick with the original cyclo in June. I refuse to pay the exorbitant ASO fees too.

So, the rumbling I'm hearing is the Paris Roubaix Challenge will again be the day before Paris Roubaix, 2013.

That's cool because I am returning for my 4th edition (and probably last) of the Tour of Flanders sportiv and I am really looking forward to the doing the PR Challenge again.:D

Anybody else planning on going?

An update:

The Tour of Flanders Cyclo Sportiv will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2012. Entries will be limited this year to 16,000. Last year there were around 22,000 participants.

http://sport.be.msn.com/rondevanvlaanderen/2013/eng/

In other FANTASTIC NEWS, the third running of the Paris Roubaix Challenge will run on Saturday, April 6, 2013. There will be two shorter courses starting and ending in Roubaix, then a longer 170km course starting near Busigny and finishing in Roubaix. It appears as though the course may have all of the pave sectors that the pros will race on the following day.

Entries open on December 21, 2012 and will be limited.

170k, 27 sectors of stones. Can't freaking wait!

Anyone else going?
