I love 60 minutes.

They brought Tim Donahey to talk about his mob connections and that the whole NBA is just a fixed circus... and now they brought Tyler to talk. Alpe guessed 1 year ago he´ll do that. Nice look into the future.

I love it.

"Lance used EPO in 1999"
Wow, did not see that one coming.

Just kidding. Old news. So last century.

Anyone notice the difference between when Lance used EPO and after he stopped?
Did Lance stop winning when he stopped EPO.

Heck no.
Was even stronger.
History will show.

Tyler SSDD.

Tyler yawn. That said, I do like Tyler.
Probably should not have doped as much as he did, but what the hey.

I think he lack credibility with that whole disappearing twin thing, kinda like Landis, spun a load of crap to get off but now spilling his guts. This will be the line or at least the one I would be taking.

To paraphrase Grey Manrod: I doubt Tyler gives a penile insertion.

Yeah, Fabricatani is going to get some mileage out of the chimera thing, past denials, etc. It doesn't change the fact that corroboration can be devastating. And considering that both Floyd and Tyler have admitted to their own wrongdoing it provides a pretty rational explanation for their prior lies.

I hope they both find peace, but if Tyler wants to take the bitter path I hope he's as quick and witty as Floyd.

Ok, the Lance/Wigans sidebar has the potential to be pretty funny, but let's keep this about Tyler - and Lance of course, but only the years that are pertinent to the allegations. There's a whole other thread where we can discuss his last bike ride around France.

Can we just clarify

Is Tyler bitter, disgruntled, or an alcoholic?

Well, put it this way, if he has won the tour himself I doubt he would have come forward. We know Landis would certainly not have. So naturally there must be an element of bitterness to why someone would do this. That doesn't mean he is lying of course. It does, however, make it a rather unattractive spectacle. I'm one of those that doesn't see anything positive from going back and raking over things from as long ago as 12 years ago. It's not nice for the fans. The most important thing is to make sure the rules are right for today.

Fab has really got to be delicate here. I'll bet there are some very deep friendships involved here. He aggressively attacks the wrong guy and more people come out of the woodwork. There could easily be some serious cascading action here.

And the dudes had better be working on their memoirs now, while they still have value!

Um, is it just me, or is the first time Tyler has explicitly admitted to PED use? He says 'like we all did' clearly about injecting EPO. Boy, ill-timed lawsuit from the UCI, too - that won't look good when the questions about the Tour De Suisse start popping up in 3, 2, 1 ....

Hell no, after his postive TDS-Test he changed to blood re-filling and "got (even) better". To say it in your words....

Man come down, your love is a big liar and cheater. Accept it and go on.

Is schadenfreude positive or negative? It feels positive to me!

So much for the "Tour of Redemption 1999".

There are going to be a lot of people disappointed that there is proof they've been duped.

I think that's important given Armstrong's status as a cultural and sporting icon.

Good job to Hamilton for finally coming out with it.

What kind of message do you think we're sending to the riders of today if the single most successful rider of the last decade, a proved doper who retired this very season, is allowed to walk away from the sport with his reputation and palmares intact? Wouldn't you agree that would be an incentive for the riders of today to do whatever it takes to get to the top?

Also this now highlights the role of the UCI in covering up that 01 positive. Surely there has to be a shake-up now. So effectively Lance's legacy should have stopped at 2 Tours.

I pity the poor deniers today. O truly, I do. That was a big stone to come crumbling today. I especially pity poor Whareagle, late of DPF, who so nobly defended Tyler to the very end.

But, more than that -- got-damn it feels good to be right.

I don't think it effects today's riders what riders got away with in the early part of the last decade. It's not really how they think. They're looking at the rules now and seeing if they can beat them, not if they could have beaten them in the past. It's always an evolving situation which changes every year.

That thought brings me down . . . .

Surely there WON'T be a UCI shakeup. Let's enjoy the moment of truth (from a big fat liar) while it lasts!
