If it's anything like JV's "explosive" "confession"...

Yup. JV's confession amounted to a weak "I doped" buried in the text of a new version of an article he has written several times before. He certainly followed the advice he gave to Landis, which was to talk only about himself and not name names.

That reminds me. I need to change my avatar back.

I want to see a second book by Landis titled "Fcuk Everyone" where he really goes to town and tells everything.

I want to see cycling's equivalent of Julian Assange preempt all these authored and edited books with the raw, unedited facts via emails, receipts, etc, etc.

It will be interesting what he reveals. Not being part of the pro circus any more and not needing to win any favours could make it quite interesting.

I read the Miller book which gave an interesting insight into the guys personality but on the drugs side was fairly cryptic. It was almost as if he was holding back on dishing the dirt/naming names for fear of reprisal.

With this and the ongoing LA saga I cannot see the McQuaid and the UCI being able to continue, but how can they be sanctioned?

repeating this. Legally speaking not realistic? Why not?

The truth is an absolute defense to libel. There is often no better promotional material for book sales than getting sued by some jerk to keep the truth hidden.

Agree RR. I never met him, but know people who do and I got the strong impression this was a long time coming. I also agree this will have to be a huge weight off his chest as you say.

As several of us discussed, it was almost a question of who would speak first, Floyd or Tyler, as both seemed to have a sense of morals at their inner core, deep inside.

It will be interesting to see when this gets written, how it's edited, and when it's published. If it takes him another year - and it might - he will escape the statute of limitations on his Olympic medal. He may however feel like Floyd he wants to get the facts out before the statute is up. Then again, the guy he'd be handing his gold medal too would be Eki, who was on the same program at USPS, so...

Morals? really? so his trying to ,make money at someone elses expense is your idea of morals? well this is America. Seems to me that someone trying to "get something off their chest" takes personal responsibility for their actions and doesnt indulge in finger pointing. His self serving agenda has been obvious from the start. When i saw 60 minutes i didnt say wheres the beef I thought,"wheres the book?" Now, here it is. Such a surprise! Landis beat him to the punch by filing in federal court for whatever "reward" there is for blowing the whistle on Armstrong. Landis was "helped:" in hsi court filing by the two lawyers thta re[presented Lemond....just a coincidence folks... Once again that was an action by an idividual who said he "Just wanted to come clean" yet pointed the finger just coincidentally of course before the start of the tour of california and the tour de france. Jeez noithign self serving about that eh? He aslo tol Armstrong and Bruyneel if they could get hsi team into tour of califiro he would keep quiet..now theres some morals for you!
It surprises me that so many look at these two self serving weasels and hold them as as some moral arbiters bu tin fact being washed up they are not so much interested in coming clean as cleaning up at the expense of others. Hardly a moral stance. at least they make their accusation in the light of day and dont hide behind psuedonymes.

Don't sweat it, Chewy. You're definitely one of the twelve, possibly even several of them.

Back on topic, I do sincerely hope that this book will have a fair amount of new information in it with regard to the Postal years, but I'm also pretty prepared to be profoundly disappointed. I hope that there's enough meat there to sell well beyond just cycling fans.

Funny how you have more of a problem with the morals of telling the truth to make a small amount of money than telling lies to make a massive amount of money.

They are angels of light and truth compared to the UCI and LA.

Yeah dude - that twinkies diet is doing you no favours.

I keep checking slowtwit for more trey shenanigans, but see none - you finished there?

I wonder what kind of market really exists for this book? Any sales numbers on previous doping-slanted tomes?

If what The Hog says is true, and the front cover blurb certainly suggests the otherwise, then I'm not buying this book. I don't want to hear about his depression. I want to read what everyone else in the Clinic is interested in.

I hope he discusses his doping diary from Dr. Fuentes (which has been out on the internet for a couple of years now) and duly explain two issues revolving around the situation-

1) Why on Earth did he feel he needed to take such copious amount of drugs to win?

2) Why was his then-wife the one sending payments to Fuentes using her maiden name?

As for the actual content of the book, let's not forget the words of the poster who started this thread about a year and a half ago-

Here's to hoping Race Radio is correct on this one. He's been right about everything else...

yeah, yeah. I too hope Race Radio is correct on this one at least.
Things are far from over. It's not over yet. There is still a chance. Multiple chances, multiple times.
I'm still in a Tyler-like depression because I was so much looking forward to see Lance handcuffed and me to have to leave the forum after losing a very important bet.
btw, It's not the clinics' fab12 - the main clinicians are something like the 12th man in soccer, hoping to win.......just something.

Looking forward to Tyler's book. Perhaps I will break my collarbone and hire a teamcar to make the reading experience more authentic.
NO doubt Tyler's promo-tour was close to perfect. The book will be a Superkracher.
But behind the 7 mountains, at the 7 dwarfs there is....

PS: "If what The Hog says is true..." OMG :D
Then everyone will be happy for him.

i dotn have aproblem with anypone tellign the truth what i have a problem with is tow people who change their stories repeatedly to fit their economic needs at the time and then everyone gets all teary eyed about these self serving "truth" tellers. I donated to floyds truth fund and it turns out he lied then also . now i am to believe him when he wants to make money off this as well??? If either of these clowns came clean before they were busted I could believe them but when they come clean just as they file in federal court for bounty money and a book deal...isnt the situation just SLIGHTLY obvious? these are not remorseful or truthful individuals that have a conscience of any sort...they are liars highly motivated by mercenary considerations. dont think ANYONE can dispute that. these are the kind of people we can trust to tell the truth now? Lenmonds poic on the fornt of tylers book is no coincidence...lemond also paid for Floyds lawyers...If lance falls thta leaves greg as the sole american tdf champion...70,000 pages submitted by lemond to novitsky sum it up pretty well....Greg hates lance......

I repeat: where does Hamilton's gold medal fit in your narrative?

If you donated to the FFF that says it all, really.

I suppose you mean "Lemond's pic on the front of Tyler's book". Now my question. If you refer to the book cover posted by Berzin, where is Lemond in that picture? All I can see is Tyler Hamilton waring the white jersey for best young rider (presumably in the TdF) and Lance Armstrong in their USPS-days.

The rest of your rant is so pathetic it deserves no further reaction other than you are redefining the word fanboi.

I personally would never trust a word he says. Anybody who took
that many drugs and continued to lie years afterwards for no reason
obviously has mental health issues. Rock Racing? He said that he was
going to come back after his (wrongful) ban and win the tour. Instead
he came back doped up and raced for Rock Racing and won USPRO.
Very close.

That pic isn't from the Tour. Pretty sure it's from the Dauphiné.

Yowza! As a member of the book publishing community I can tell that Tyler's publisher Bantam/Random House, is as big as it gets. That's THE biggest commercial book publisher there is and none better. Their marketing machine, along with Coyle's rep and chops, is a serious middle finger to Wonderboy's gang. Kudos to all who helped make the book a reality!

Do you think it will be a better story than the lies told in: “how I came back from cancer and won the Tour clean?”

Apparently they’ve got Ben Stiller to narrate the audio book version.

I'll take your word for it. Main point is that the picture doesn't show Lemond in any way, shape or form. Not that roadfreak44 will let that little fact get in the way of another misinformed, fanboi rant.

I'll go you one better, how about Jerry Stiller? And include a Seinfeld-ian 'Festivus Holiday" section where 'grievance about all' are enumerated in detail. It would do Tyler's soul good i think, no?

misinfirmed? really? so Floyd iddnt file in federal court for rat money? and tyler didint wait till he had a ook deal in the works to "confess"" and that book cover doesnt show a pic of Greg Lemond? and the lawyers that landis got when he was flat broke to protect him form a lawsuit by LA and whose retainer is in the $200,000 range and were they NOT Lemonds lawyers as well during hsi Ill ge tlance phase? Gosh unblike you , i must be totally misinformed. I dont have a problem with LA being investigated there is somethign mroe than a little fishy about the tour de swisse thing, I just have a proilem with two self serving mercenary weasels like these offering allegations as evidence. As one forum poster offered i would like to see some facts, some prescriptions billos paid for drugs etc. if there is any truth to the many thousands of allegations posted on the forum then surely there is some small bit of evidence as well. You liek so many potehrs are qiuick to judge based upon your OPINION> opinions are like *******s everones got one. so what?TYler saying so to get a book deal doesnt make it so...in any court of law there has to be more than howler monkeys yelping there has to be soemthing called evidence. I f people are to be pilooried in a court of opinion then everyone is guilty by reason of thoise =that bear personal enmity. ..l am all for LA and bruyneel being hung by their toes til they rot if found guilty but they need to actually introduce some evidence. Out of the last twenty people executed in NC five were later exonerated as innocent because of wrong evidence- most of it hearsay. .is that clear enough for you?
