So time to discuss the situation inside the team more. Yates pulling hard, as last year. But what is the role of Almeida and Ayuso? No single pull so far. Will they pull hard on Galibier or keep being treated like team leaders? Pog will need them at some point.

The co-leaders must be frustrated with Pogi, he pulled one of their rivals away from them! This is not how to win the race with Ayuso.

Yup, Pogi broke the team rules. He will work for Ayuso on Galibier.

The only word to describe Ayuso is delusional. We have seen strong teams with multiple leaders before eg CSC- Saxo in 2008 with Sastre and the Schleck brothers. Someone needs to give Juan Ayuso a history lesson.

Almeida will pull at some point, I would say but I expect literally nothing from Ayuso. In terms of domestique duties but obviously he will also not deliver the win himself. Laughable to think he is on the level of Vingegaard. Thats why I wrote multiple times that having Ayuso at the Tour might look cool on paper but is in fact a liability. And as it seems, UAE is so packed now that they will be there in most situations but they will again be outperformed by Visma in the crucial moments, cause there everyone knows exactly what to do and how the hierarchy looks like.

I don’t know, but I think Wellens would have to be a lot shorter than he is to make Almeida look like a giant. Almeida looks giant compared to Adam Yates in that video if that‘s what you mean.

So what are your impressions on UAE today? Definitely the strongest team in the race but they had their comical moments today The previous statements about Ayuso not willing to work 100% aren't baseless. Almeida wasn't happy as well gesticulating at him. Both guys doing turns on the front was something else

I dont know but Ayuso seems to want to be high on GC himself ...maybe he was promised that when he signed for UAE

In fairness their team is so strong could do without him pulling but the only problem it will cause issues with Almeida who also might want to finish high on GC ....Yates looks out of GC already

Ayuso was dropped at one point. So I think he thought he couldn’t even pace in front. The whole team was impressive, with Politt, Wellens en Soler riding fast. They will get on the same page now and holding Ayuso (and even Joao) close in GC.
Maybe let Almeida attack earlier in some stage for a win, he looked really strong.

Team looks really good and Adam could threaten from a long attack if needed. No issues at all from Almeida or Adam working for Pogacar while Ayuso is the issue as expected by most. Train should be Adam, Ayuso, and Almeida. Hopefully Ayuso falls in line.

The gravel stage will be super interesting. Only Politt and Wellens to support 3 GC riders, and if Ayuso or Almeida has a puncture, I'm not sure anyone waits for them.

My money is on Almeida in the TT.

Ayuso is still young, but he has that American arogance in him which many of their sports stars have due to all the years he spent there. It's the reason why they are so good. He hid himself well in the first few stages but today he only worked when it was necessary. Almeida has all the reasons to be annoyed with him. Especially since he finished 3rd in the end. I hope Joao puts a minute into him in the ITT so that the hierarchy within the team is established. Almeida and Yates know their place, while Ayuso almost seems like he has a free role.
