Bouachard didn't make it back, I think. His team mates now seem to have waited for him.

He gained one second in the intermediate sprint earlier on. May lose minutes in the end
he indeed lost 1:50 in the end. Minus the one second bonus

Bennett still doesn't have it. If he doesn't find his form soon the talk abput leaving him out of the tour will start again....With this leadout you should win the stage.

He's been a fair bit better than Jakobsen this season so I guess Jakobsen's probably in trouble as well so.

Jakobsen hasn't been good at all, true, but that QuickStep train isn't working right now. Him and Morkov aren't clicking on any cylinders currently. Bennett on the other hand has the best lead out rider in the world right in front of him. And it shows, since Bennett can hardly pass Van Poppel.

I recall an interview with Denk saying he is done with sprinters, and Bennett is doing brilliant work to confirm his ideas. Eisel was livid yesterday too.

DvP may be the best on paper, but I also wouldn't say his leadouts the past two days were perfect. Yesterday they left it too late, today he came to the front a bit too early.

Sure, in the end Bennett should have launched his sprint earlier then instead of getting boxed in behind his faiding leadout man, but overall I wouldn't really see it as a reason to be too critical (yet).

Archbold is part of that train and ended up in the Quickstep C team.
Kirby reckons he's good but I suspect that's just an excuse to go on about a mullet.

Archbold is the 3rd to last leadout man at this point in his career. So tbh he barely matters and doesn't start even in all WT races Bennett attends. He will be also not a part of the Tour team even if Bennett is in Top form he max gets Mullen and van Poppel with Hindley, Buchmann, Jungels, Schachmann, Politt, Haller they have other very good riders looking at the tour. Plus the Job that Archbold does can be also done by Politt or Haller.

Mullen + van Poppel is elite and it makes you wonder if Meeus wouldn't get better results. because he missed his wins this season because he was terrible out of place for the sprint but looked the strongest to the line in a few.

If Bora isn't fully out of being a sprint team they could find a good replacement for bennett as well in the summer but for now he has a few months to proof himself. At the moment I don't think he's a top 5 sprinter overall and I think you could also argue that he isn't top 10 anymore depending on how you rate the emerging talent in Kooij, Welsford and De Lie. With Bennetts money it is possible that Bora could pick one of those up and resign van Poppel.

Let's see how tomorrow goes. maybe Bennett proves me wrong immediately.

Impressive sprint from Groenewegen. Seems to be one of the sprinters in better shape at the moment.

Lmao De Gendt complaining the race is too easy and he's losing condition doing it.

I didn't know Larry Warbasse was still knocking about, would've thought todays stage was a bit too long and brutal for him, surprised he hasn't tried to get together 100 other willing participants to come in an hour OTL.

He should get himself in the breakaway one day then and make the peloton suffer to keep him in range.
