They have Kooij in the front and their real GC leader there (Gloag). Not to mention Jumbo working in the front and Kuss their supposed leader in the back group.

Kuss, that was a replay from 30k ago or soWho crashed? One jumbo, couldn't see the other one, guess it was in the second or 3rd group...?
I think its correct. Schmid is in g3.PCS lists Ewan, Merlier and the other Quickstep guys in G2. Don't think that is correct?!
Some time ago I saw Merlier (Belgian champion kit) in that chasing group (now at 40s). Don't know about Ewan.PCS lists Ewan, Merlier and the other Quickstep guys in G2. Don't think that is correct?!
19 years and just 5 days old, but here he is, impressing in the wind once more. Tarling can go so many ways in his development as a rider.
PCS lists him with 1,94m with 88 kg, so not really a climber weight...Yes, impressive.
Can he climb good enough to get a good GC, here?
seems like both are indeed. Ewan was shown in the cars at the beginning of the coverage, so I assumed he was at the very backSome time ago I saw Merlier (Belgian champion kit) in that chasing group (now at 40s). Don't know about Ewan.
Doubt it. He is almost a direct copy of Pippo Ganna, so a pure watts climb like Jebel Jais should really suit him. However, he is rather heavy right now, still carrying around baby weight. He is very much capable of going the Wiggins route in the future, but right now I would deem it to be an impossible task.Yes, impressive.

Why would it be strange? He could get the decisive time gap against Yates and the rest of UAE team today..Remco in the rotation, I assume he's softpedalling when at the front... If not, it's a bit strange.
His team mates are desperately trying to chase at 50s with Merlier. That's why it's strange. Why would it be strange? He could get the decisive time gap against Yates and the rest of UAE team today..
Why is that weird? Because Quickstep is chasing behind them? I think it's weird that Quickstep is chasing G1 when you have Yates in G2. There are enough chances to win a race with Merlier, but taking a big gap in the GC can happen now.Remco in the rotation, I assume he's softpedalling when at the front... If not, it's a bit strange.
not sure what the wind is like at the moment, but in case of crosswinds, usually all riders stay in the circulation because it's the best way to avoid getting dropped. His team mates are desperately trying to chase at 50s with Merlier. That's why it's strange.
If G1 is able to take enough time, Remco basically has the podium in the bag already.
Crosswinds to shallow and road too wide to cause anyone being dropped.not sure what the wind is like at the moment, but in case of crosswind, usually all riders stay in the circulation because it's the best way to avoid getting dropped.
