Beautiful scenery but disappointing that the wind wasn't coming from the right direction after all.

Quickstep show that's it's about the team, not the sprinter. It seems that no matter what sprinters they have, they will win.

Some really unlucky riders there. I think it was Fretin who looked like he'd swerved round a stricken rider on the right. only for someone else to come hurtling across him, putting him airborne into the barriers. Ouch!!

Easy stage & a completely straight finish (worsened by many competing lead-outs that lacked depth) = messy sprint and big crash.

Corners and bends are safer.

Win for QS & Merlier! I was just thinking that he better win otherwise Lamperti & Magnier will feel they could have done better ... Not surprising a crash with all the sprint teams crammed into a sprint and going from left to right at high speed. Hope no broken bones or anything serious.

I don't think ppl underestimate Merlier at all, even at Alpecin he was almost level with Philipsen. Nice timed effort today, where was Sammy?

I would even say he was faster than Philipsen back then, but he was never able to get similar results after 2-3 weeks of GT racing. First few days he’s the fastest in the world, but really badly recuperates
