I thought A.Yates was wasted on this climb. Reckon he could have finished 3rd to 5th on this stage.
He didn't' do more work in the wind than for example Tejada or Gall.

Your points are totally valid but you left out ego. Remco is carrying around crushing TT skills, great on rollers and shallow stuff, but when it gets steep he gets pooped out, Roglic just sits down and gets to work, and Lipowitz is just going to be better bet, and you get multiple mountain days out of both, Remco really struggles with heavy grades for day after day torture. Today will be in his head for a bit. Today was a super mental boost for top @8 riders. Tiberi, Gee, Del Toro all passed a serious gut check.. Hard menI'll reiterate a point I made in the Evenepoel thread: it's up to the team (staff that is) to get it together and actually demonstrate Red Bull Bora's changes since last summer actually meant something and weren't just a case of musical chairs with exact same outcomes.
You'd think they'd know about the rider already and his qualities/weaknesses, i.e. and not just show up in UAE and go "duh!" when things don't work out.
Bora bought Remco cause he is the best domestic in the world and Lipowitz needs him to have a chance to beat Pogi. Don't overthink this.I'll reiterate a point I made in the Evenepoel thread: it's up to the team (staff that is) to get it together and actually demonstrate Red Bull Bora's changes since last summer actually meant something and weren't just a case of musical chairs with exact same outcomes.

I think Remco needs to go for a beer with Wout and MVP and ask for advice about abandoning the idea of being an elite climber, other guys give up.Bora bought Remco cause he is the best domestic in the world and Lipowitz needs him to have a chance to beat Pogi. Don't overthink this.
He needs to concentrate on classics and build himself for them, not to pretend he is GT GC guy. Just a waste of huge talent there.Yates sort of popped also

Clint Eastwood " mans got to know his limitations ".
Or he needs to wake up and give up this TT specialization. He needs to concentrate on classics and build himself for them, not to pretend he is GT GC guy. Just a waste of huge talent there.
He is just setting himself up for an emotional rollercoaster.. Yesterday he was crushing, today he got crushed.. All in all Tiberi, Gee, Del Toro had respectable TT performances.. Remco should teach them a lesson at MSR or Flanders, Strade..He needs to concentrate on classics and build himself for them, not to pretend he is GT GC guy. Just a waste of huge talent there.
Remco could break hour record, win some big 1 day events.. GT wins or hard stage races are not his thing...Or he needs to wake up and give up this TT specialization.
Going in wind tunnels in the USA and going crazy about every mm about his TT position.
Nobody cares.
Focus on building a climber's physique by first losing a couple of kgs of leg muscle.
I am aware. But you keep him in contention because he is brilliant on Jabeel Hafeet. He helped Del Toro when he got back and did a good job pacing for a bit
He is far behind in GC
Good job from him and the team imo
I think he is just here to support Del Toro.I am aware. But you keep him in contention because he is brilliant on Jabeel Hafeet.
At least we'll have a nice battle for GC still. I think Del Toro might be able to drop him if UAE starts riding hard, and then he goes.Given Tiberi´s shape , he shouldn't have any problem for GC. Del Toro will probably win the other mountain stage in a sprint, but Tiberi will win the GC if he can hold on.
It used to be Remco Mustafa as the marked man, now it's Tiberi the Cat, whom Isaac the Bull has to guard. Team dynamics between Bahrain and UAE in all sprints would shape up the GC until the last mountain top finish. At least we'll have a nice battle for GC still. I think Del Toro might be able to drop him if UAE starts riding hard, and then he goes.
After Oman, I have my doubts.I thought A.Yates was wasted on this climb. Reckon he could have finished 3rd to 5th on this stage.
He was fine in Oman being a victim of circumstances. Got caught up in a crash in the first climbing stage and lost 22s which meant he had to attack the final stage and ride it too aggressively. After Oman, I have my doubts.
