Full meme ride from the Belgian pozzovivo after crashing on an easy, not real gravel (TM) parcours.
As did De Marche.Wtf didn't Velasco ride Lombardia yesterday
SilverWow Wout outta nowhere!!! Imagine the result if WVA did not crash 💀
Crashapaz crashed tooEvenepoel crashed and got 9th yesterday
Van Aert today showed his superiority by crashing, losing 9 minutes, and finishing 8th.
The course sucked.Mate just stop at this point and read what REAL riders said about the course, not a star wars monkey named keyboard warrior.
Good to here that from someone who haven't rode it. Maybe read some reports like the one below. The course sucked.
I think you'll find that several riders in that age group finished ahead of him. What is the point of that as a non-elite age category?Former biathlete Pietro Dutto won the 19-34y title
Late to the thread so maybe someone else mentioned it already but noticed Laurent Brochard took the 55-59 crown!Former biathlete Pietro Dutto won the 19-34y title while former Vacansoleil teammates Marcello Pavarin and Johnny Hoogerland took the 35-39y and 40-44y titles,
And Samu is world champion!!!
While I agree with your disgust over the lack of coverage for a WC, not having coverage doesn't make an event a joke.So they're only showing the last 1.5 hour of this race? Race will probably (almost) be decided by then. That for a WC. Shows how much of a joke this still is.

You obviously didn't watch last year's XC Marathon Worlds in Denmark........Now that was poor. For a world championship it surely does.
From your link: "(there are also as a few sketchy bike path sections)." ...yeah, bike path...that article doesnt say what you think it does.Good to here that from someone who haven't rode it. Maybe read some reports like the one below.

We Aren't in Kansas Any More: My Recon of the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships Course
Tarmac, doubletrack, steep climbs, and singletrack, all tucked into the folds of Veneto's Prosecco Hills, will make for a gravel race unlike any other.velo.outsideonline.com
And all the Americans now crying that they don't like the course can just blame themselves. They had a legit chance to host the first UCI gravel world championships and to show the world how it should have been done. But they declined it in the name of "the spirit of gravel". The next year they are competing and crying that it does not look like in Kansas 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Yes "sketchy" and when you look at the pictures it is way harder then anything you get in Kansas where all you get is a long boring straight. Maybe unbound shouldn't be called gravel race becuase it included part of peanut butter mud not pure rocky gravel? From your link: "(there are also as a few sketchy bike path sections)." ...yeah, bike path...that article doesnt say what you think it does.
This is just stupid...no, I mean seriously, this is the dumbest comment on the forum today. Congratulations on the win!Yes "sketchy" and when you look at the pictures it is way harder then anything you get in Kansas where all you get is a long boring straight. So what is your next argument? Maybe there was to much paved roads here?
But I think you also have to figure in that many of the Euro pros racing here have some background racing cross or MTB.not convinced its that simple, from what Ive seen of unbound, and even some of the world series gravel races or national championships, the courses are insane, often very technical and there would be no chance as a roadie just hopping on a different bike and competing at the very top.
this course, whilst to me it looks like my perfect style of gravel riding, which is itself a clue its probably not that technical all said and done and probably no worse than a "gravel stage" in a grand tour, I dont think matches up with what the gravel riders are competing on the rest of the year.
I think to have a fair comparison you’d have the pros come to Unbound . . . Prepared and peaking as they would for RVV or Roubaix. With proper prep they would still win Unbound. Keegan is the only one who would stand a chance against WT pros. As for the course it is not bike paths course, so stop talkin ***. It is not unbound, more a BWR. Still extremely hard according to all that finished. My friend who was 14th at woman 40-44 told me it was the hardest ride of her life.
