I think top 15 would be a great result for her at the Olympics. It will be interesting to see.

It will. The Olympic course does not present with as much vertical gain per lap, which will not be to her advantage. Nor will her typically slower starts. However, the lack of lap traffic will help her.

I assumed world rankings would be used, but Riley Amos appears to be ranked number one. Surely that cannot be right, or am I looking at the wrong data .

No, Riley Amos is the #1 ranked male XCO cyclist in the world. He's won every World Cup XCO race he has started this year.

Every U23 race he has started. No reason for those wins to accumulate the same points as the Elite race.

N1NO was scheduled to race last weekend, but decided to skip it to better prep for the OLY race. I hope that he is just feeling a little cooked, and not injured or sick.

Yeah, absolutely. It makes me question those running the series.....and as I've already mentioned, a massive gap to the next World Cup, in late September; so near enough 3 months. They could have scheduled Les Gets the week after the Worlds in Andorra.

I think it's the first World Cup N1no has chosen to miss for over 10 years (not including injury).

Nino is an old man now. He needs more time for recovery/training to freshen up for the Olympic games, which is his main objective this season.

Yeah, I wouldn't rule him out of him challenging for the Olympics; he knows what to do. Been there, done it....

And he's also not out of the World Cup overall, if that is a target.

Thanks to a poster on mtbr, it appears Jolanda has removed references to TFR on her social media.........Very interesting. Since winning the Olympic title in 2021, I think she's only won 1 XCC & XCO - in Monte Saint-Anne in 2022. Lots of injury/ sickness.

I guess we'll see big changes across quite a lot of teams going into 2025, particularly Trek.

Some countries National Champs this weekend; but such is the poor coverage of them, it's been forgotten. Is it any wonder that MTB is the poor relation...

Both Bjorn Riley & Kelsey Urban doubled up in XCO/XCC......
