COFIDIS continue their awful TDF, while PICNIC is getting away from them, and even UNO-X.
so most likely we will see ARKEA and COFIDIS being relegated by the end of the season.

wildcards gaps:

the wildcard battle is probably going to heat up at the Vuelta, because the Q36.5 will be there with tom peacock.
meanwhile COFIDIS gap to ARKEA has been reduced more in the past week.
UNO-X will most likely get the first wildcard.

After today:

UnoX: 260
Astana: 35
PicNic: 10

I think UnoX can pass Cofidis even during the tour, but I think they won't catch intermarche, who will be on the hotseat after the tour
Intermarche, and Cofidis have the benefit of riding more races then Uno-X, and Girmay can score a lot of points in the sprints for Intermarche.
Uno-X will get the wildcard for sure , so they are going to be OK, in any case.
Cofidis they will have the TDF invite in any case, and they are kind of used to be a PRO team.
i believe the 2 Swiss team will get the additional wildcards eventually.
the increase of number of teams participating in GT to 23, and auto wildcards, kind of relaxed this competition, and really there isn't much of a different between the rich PRO teams, and the poor World tour teams.

Uno x will get in over Cofidis at this race. But yeah it just does not matter anymore at all.

It really is more beneficial to be Pro Team from now on. There isnt even stress anymore to miss a WC

with Vaquelin already strongly rumored to Ineos, I don't think Arkea has a chance to survive.

TDF:

18 WT (I hope PicNic stays in)
3 auto wild cards: Cofidis, Uno-X, Tudor
2 invitations: Total, Q36/Unibet

Again you're not taking into account that either Intermarche of Lotto's license disappears. Either Cofidis or Uno X will be WT. Tietema will actually get their Tour WC if Arkea folds.

it doesnt disappear, the 19th team will get the WT license. it can't be sold, UCI will have the 19th team stay in the WT

WT
1 UAE
2 Decath
3 Astana
4 FDJ
5 Bora
6 EF
7 Soudal
8 Visma
9 Bahrain
10 Ineos
11 Lidl
12 Movistar
13 Jayco
14 Astana
15 Alpecin
16 Israel (promoted)
17 Lotto (promoted)-Intermarche
18 PICNIC

automatic wild cards
19 Cofidis
20 Tudor
21 Uno-X

invitations:
22 Total
23 Q36/Unibet

I hope PICNIC stays in the WT, otherwise they'd have problems to get the guaranteed wild card, last I checked they weren't in the top 3 pro teams 2025

You got Astana there twice. If Lotto and Intermache merge than Cofidis or UNO X will/can get the 18th place in the WT, opening space for an additional automatic WC and invitation.

In 2026, the UCI WorldTour license currently held by Intermarché-Wanty will likely be sold, as they are merging with Lotto, who will retain their own license. This merger means the Intermarché license will be available for purchase by another team.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Merger:
Intermarché-Wanty and Lotto are in advanced talks to merge their teams.
  • License Transfer:
If the merger proceeds, the new team will operate under Lotto's existing license.
  • License Sale:
The Intermarché-Wanty license, currently held by the team, will be available for sale.
  • Potential Buyers:
Teams like Cofidis, Tudor, and Q36.5 are mentioned as potential contenders for the license, potentially to avoid relegation or to gain a WorldTour spot.
  • Rider Movement:
If the merger happens, all riders currently under contract with Intermarché-Wanty would become free agents for the 2026 season.
